Help Me Pick Which Stone, Please

So, I sold some stuff and I'm temporarily flush. Plus, I have 2 4mm diamonds, that I purchased over 20 years ago, that are doing nothing in my jewelry box.

So, I decided to make a sapphire three stone ring. (I briefly considered demantoid, but I don't want to chip the stone and cry like a baby)

Which, of the sapphire shapes that I've pictured, do you think is best? The proportions are correct for the diamonds, as well as the various sapphires that I'm considering. The smaller pic is actual size (if PS lets it load actual size) and the larger is scaled up slightly for ease of viewing.

I have a couple that I'm strongly considering, and a couple that don't do anything for me. I don't want to do the standard 3 rounds ring.

What do you think?

I like C because it has the best combination of saturation and tone IMO. The top two are too dark, and therefore, also not very saturated. While the bottom two have nice tone, they lack the saturation of the marquise (C).

I like A because I just really like the square look combined with the rounds. Just my newbie opinion.

C

then

E

I like the color of C and D
I like the shape of E, I wish it had the color of C 0r D

I know, not helpful huh?

I don't totally dig marquis cuts (don't judge me y'all :? ) and in this instance my brain is seeing frank and beans

-A

C, then D, then E.

I love the color of C and the proportions between the marquise and the rounds

 holy mackerel

B for me

F
I dont like any of them. Agree with TL re the color saturation on marky but shape bad. E, if hue and sat. like C then set E/W that what I call choice F.

I like the color of E

:wavey: :wavey: Hey, Everybody! :wavey: :wavey:

Well. . . um . . . actually, the pics are not of any actual stones. Sorry. Those are just random stuff I grabbed off the net.

Just going for shape here and size relative to side diamonds, please . . .

I'd like to see some east/west options, but I like all of them except B and C. My favorite is probably D, it's different but not too different :twirl:

If we're only talking about shape, I like A, D, and E in that order, but I'm not a marquise fan. If I were, I'd want traps or shields with one; rounds are a little too disparate.

Thank you ilander. that takes a lot of pressure off.

C still look like a frank and beans

I like E. Its a safe bet and easy to find a setting for. B is actually kind of nice. Its different but also depends on how different you want to go.

-A

My vote is for D. At first I liked C too, but thanks to Arcadian, now when I look at that one, all I can think of is frank and beans

A, E, then B for me!

I like C the best because of the shape and colour. The outline works together and the colour of the blue is bright and stands out. E will be next but it's more common, plus the sapphire colour isn't that great. The colour of the rest are either too dark or too gray. The shapes and proportions do not seem fluid either.

B for me
I'm a little new at this judging, I think A and B center stone is just rotated, I like B, the display is spread out a little more and center stone has good color. Center stone in C seems too light, D same on center stone, and E, color seems uneven and picture lacking detail on my pc screen. Making my decisions over breakfast, a BK surprise. :lickout:

I like B and then E.

Thanks everyone, :wavey:

I'm going with C because I am getting a heck of a deal on the stone, and for my tiny budget this gives a big look. The tone in the pic is about the same on the actual stone, but the taper is not as severe. It's a bit more rounded, and looks like a gently pointy oval. The size of C, but a little closer in shape to E.

Less like franks n beans, more like beans and chicken patty

I sealed the deal last night, after I got actual pics of the stone and I really like it. It's a medium tone sapphire, with a barely discernable hint of purple in some lights, but 100% blue in most lights. I'm not actually sure I see the purple, to tell the truth.

I am hoping it will be here early next week, so I will start a new thread and post pics at that point. :appl:
