Help me pick - gift for birth of first child

Hi SCDP,

First of all, congratulations! You have gotten many wonderful suggestions here so I'm sure you'll pick something nice.

I have seen people celebrate their child's birth and then, years later realize it might make a great college graduation or 18th birthday gift to their child to mark the occasion. If this is something you might do, a classic styling and/or birthstone might weigh into those considerations.

Congrats! My wife and I recently had our first child (two and a half weeks ago) and we too celebrated with some diamond jewellery for her from Brian Gavin Diamonds (pair of 0.333/0.334 I/VVS2 stones in a 4-prong martini stud setting and the Freya solitaire setting in 18kt white gold with a 0.962ct K/VS2 Brian Gavin Blue with medium fluorescence in it). Nothing wrong with a push present (or two) from my perspective!

Any of the suggestions from the others on here would be perfect.

From one new parent to one to be, I wish you all the very best with the remaining weeks of your pregnancy and in the months ahead after bub makes their arrival into the world (tell your husband to get as much sleep as possible now!)

I have 3 kids and I am partial to eternity bands of their birthstones to wear between my wedding band (diamond eternity) and engagement ring. I have a very thin amethyst eternity band from Tiffany and then a ruby band that was an estate piece. My middle child was born in April and in addition to my wedding band I have a wider antique band with diamonds. I mix and match them quite a bit, often leaving my engagement ring out of the mix because I have 3 kids LOL.

In addition to the rings, I also have Helen Ficalora initial and birthstone charms for each of them that I wear on a chain.
