Hi, I recently had a thread about picking a setting for a pear and have pretty much decided on this setting in rose gold:

http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/pave/14k-rose-gold-pave-rope-engagement-ring-item-52715

now I'm just looking at pears with a budget of $2200-2500 CAN. here are a few I'm looking at, just asking for opinions or other diamond recommendations

Another vote for the .60. The first one has a more noticeable bowtie. I like the one that tyty333 showed you with more length. Will give you a little more finger coverage. Will be a beautiful ring.

will more length increase risk of damage or not?

is the bowtie the kinda black line in the middle?

Yes, bowtie is the black line that goes across the center of stone. Also, I don't think that more length will increase risk of damage. However, you don't want to wear an engagement ring in situations where it can be damaged. Makes me a bit uneasy when I see the women in the gym wearing their beautiful rings while lifting weights. Eeek!

I kind of like the .54. The table on the .60 is a bit big for my taste. The one tyty posted looks the prettiest to me, by quite a bit actually, but I do like my pears a little fatter than that so the l/w ratio is a little too high for me on that one. But that is a question of taste (and the long skinny ones definitely make your fingers look pretty).

Just looked at the one tyty posted again. It really is a very pretty stone.
