Hello :)

i was hoping you guys will help me choose as DH is not much help

We have a fairly large dining room space and right now it still needs a buffett table, rug etc...but it needs a chandalier ASAP!. The room is one of the first things you see as you come into the house and it is across from the pool room which has a very nice tiffany style lamp and beautiful silk persian rug. I want the dining room to have a touch of elegance but still feel "cozy/homey"...if you know what I mean. I love art and our style is very much like pottery barn. I love mixing traditional pieces with modern pieces, etc..

So anyway...here are the 3 options I''ve been looking at (all very different from each other! and all from PB)...so what do you guys think?

Thanks in advance!

M~

and here are the pictures:

2nd option, Clarissa

(I think I would get the shades in ivory as shown here)

I think it would really help if we saw a picture of your dining room or maybe the style of an adjacent room.

I like the first one but I''m not sure if it will ''flow'' with the rest of the house. Know what I mean?

Yes I hear ya...I would take pictures but the room are so messy right now that it would be hard to show you a nice picture of them (I''m still in the process of moving so there are boxes everywhere!!...lol). Let me see if I have any older pictures that I can post...

I don''t really have any good pictures...but here is a picture of the floors...

and the dining room....with nothing because this was taken pretty much when he moved in the house...not that it has much more right now though! haha...ignore the poster on the left...and pardon the mess

LOL i just noticed my dog made his way into both of those pics...hehe

and here is the pool room (the pool table is covered, but it has a beige felt)

oops, sorry...here

and the family room from the dining room (which is adjacent to the pool room)

The whole house still needs major decoration help (rugs, art, furniture, etc)...but baby steps

I hope that helps visually!!!

So now if you guys have more recommendations...on the lighting fixtures or anything else, bring ''em!

Wedding planning was MUCH easier than house decorating!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, so, here is my question. Are you into the Tiffany style lighting like the one above your pool table? If so, I would probably tell you to buy something of that nature. However, if I had to pick from the choices above, I would pick the first. It''s traditional, yet just a bit different.

I like the tiffany lamp on the pool table but don''t wnat these two rooms looking the same...so tiffany is out

I don''t have to stick to the 3 choices above, so if you have other suggestions let me know

I really like the first one, but that''s just personal preference not based on room style per se. It''s just so unique looking.

I LOVE the first one, but I get the feeling that #2 would go better with your decor.

#1 is my personal favorite...but I am not 100% sure because DH doesn''t *love* it...I think men need a better visual and he will love it once it is here...but I want him to like it also and he likes the other 2 better....hmmm..decisions, decisions...

It is different than the rest of the stuff (not that we have that much stuff...hehe)...but that''s what I like about it. maybe I should just buy it! hehe

i love the first option. it also comes in a smaller size, which might be just perfect for our humble abode

I really love the first one, but voted for the third because the first one seems like it would be difficult to make "fit" with the decor.

I understand that. Umm, the only problem (well maybe not) is that you want your fixtures to flow throughout your home. A Tiffany fixture is very traditional and I think you need something that kind of coordinates. Let me look around and see what I can find.

I voted for #2, but ONLY the grey version. I don''t think the black and cream works as well, IMHO.

I really like the first one. Your dining room is very simple/clean lines and I think that chandelier will go great. But then again I like that kind of thing... there''s a condo model in one of the new buildings in our neighborhood that is really sleek and contemporary and then they put a crystal chandelier in the dining room. It looks so cool!! All your choices are great so I don''t think you can really go wrong but #1 is my fav!

Here is one option:
