Hey PS! After spending a while learning a ton more about diamonds, the BF and I have decided on the following specs:
Weight: 1.2-1.25c
Color: G-H
Clarity: VS1-2
Cut: AGS Ideal

Through my research, I found that many GIA X's didn't come with ASET images, so we're going with AGS Ideals just to be safe.

This JA 1.22c H, VS2 is the cheapest $/carat that I've found yet. But (1) AGS cert doesn't have the ASET image, and (2) cut looks chaotic according to the i-scope image.
ETA: The color also looks rather warm to me.

Opinions?

Put on hold and ask for an Idealscope image, tell them the posted the arrows picture instead incorrectly. They can get an IS for you in a couple days. Ask them about the color. You can't rely on photography for tint.

Thanks Gypsy! I've emailed to ask for the i-scope image, but haven't put it on hold yet.

I'm thinking about requesting a gemologist review for that one compared to this one. Looking at the G's i-scope image, it looks like there's some light leakage in the "ring of death," but the 360 view looks fine. ASET image also shows some strange faceting in the middle.

Any opinions on the H and G?

Lisa just sent me the i-scope for the 1.22 H VS2! Looks clean to me:

These are the three I've requested a gemologist review for: http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/all-diamonds/?TabSelected=3&DiamondID=284269,73694,73772
I listed these concerns:
-light return for the H (since ASET image isn't on the cert)
-eye-cleanliness from profile view

I see the light at the end of the tunnel!!!

ETA: Of course I just realized since all 3 were put on hold for review, the links no longer work... :wall:
