Help me make a decision on my engagement ring

It looks white now that you've turned the lights off. Some lighting situations it is easy to tell apart the difference between G and J, especially if tilted/looking at the back view. In some situations it is difficult to tell them apart.

Look at it tomorrow morning near a window. Give it a few days to see if you like it.

I will look at it again in the morning in different lighting. Just want her to love it, which inside I know she will. Thanks for all of your help.

What color is the room your in? That plus like soft lighting could be the reason.

Truly I think a lot of it is just the environment

But to be honest, even the pic you thought had the color, I thought it looked stunning! I like the more subtle J-K colors. To me, white WHITE diamonds do look like "hollywood bling " but colors in that range have a more subtle bone color, that I actually find more attractive.

My suggestion, take some time and actually just evaluate the stone in many lights. Ask yourself, do you like the way it looks? Don't think "is it white enough" just ask yourself, is it pretty? Are you happy?

I think sometimes people think just because you can see a difference, that means its bad. But what's important to remember, just because its not white, doesn't mean what it is isn't ALSO stunning.

Niel you're right and thank you for saying it looks stunning. It helps me calm down (I'm a worrier when it comes to making her happy). I do think it is a beautiful stone. I think in my mind when i look at it i expect "hollywood glam" because that is the traditional notion of diamond color but it truly is all a matter of preference.

Good! I mean. If you are unhappy with it that's what one thing. But don't make yourself unhappy with it because it doesn't fit what De Beers tell you you're suppose to like.
