Help me look at two OECs please.

I got the 3.09 M this morning and it is GORGEOUS, love the faceting!. The good thing is knowing that this one is A GIA M, it will be a great comparison for the Ebay one.

Yes! That is really fortuitous! Do you have a local appraiser lined up for the ebay stone? You can use your eyes to compare to the GIA stone to get a feel for color and faceting and beauty, but you want a good appraiser to get a sense of clarity and to make sure there is no damage, and to check the carat weight.

And a hug would be nice, but didn't I tell you that I expect payment in diamonds?? I thought I told you? :tongue:

Sighhh... I wish I had money to buy the deals I see on ebay. I found another one right up my alley but now is not the time. Poop.

Truthfully, it would be a very hard choice if I had to choose one of the two. A very different facet pattern but I think it is equally as beautiful, just in a different way.

I want both.

It will be VERY hard to turn down this 3ct OEC BUT if the E-bay stone pans out as I hope, I can settle because then I can afford to buy that beautiful pair of 2.09ct OEC studs from JBEG =)

Ohhhh, I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to hear the news on which one you like best!

I have to admit that I've been thinking about looking into all three of these same diamonds (plus one more) but I've been swamped busy at work so just can't make the time it takes to really look and decide. Pretty please-- will you take lots of photos and give me your thoughts on what your though are on each diamond? I know that is a lot to ask you...so forgive me if this seems too forward. :wink2:

Edited: I just wanted to clarify that I meant I've been eyeing at least 2 of those same diamonds for a while. I didn't mean that I am swooping in on the photos you've postedbhere--I knew exactly which ones they were and their vendors as soon as I saw the photos. I've honestly just decided to pause my shopping until my work schedule calms down next week. I just didn't want to step on toes or sound however I may have soundednwihtout this edit attached. :appl:
 
What color is your rb again? I'm wondering how low in color I can go for a Rhr. How does an M look Irl? That is exciting news about the OEC. I just got OEC earrings from Jbeg and I love them! Anyways I think Im getting a cushion since I want it to be different from my rb engagement ring.

My RB is an N. The M looks very close in color, as it should.

I think it looks beautiful. Love the faceting. Old cuts do such wonderful things for the lower colours - I know I wouldn't have my stone any other way.

Holy frigging moly mama! That is awesome!!

I also think warmth suits old cuts well. When I was in La Jolla I had the pleasure of seeing some large OECs in LMN colors and they looks smashing. Love OECs in warm colors especially because they are such a deal for the price.
 
These are the vendor photos of a 2.66 L VVS2 OEC (we'll see) that I bought off e-bay today thanks to Dreamer_D. I will have it tomorrow and will post my photos along with what it really is. I actually like the setting as a temp if I keep it.

UM yeah, real big price difference. IF the ebay stone is any where near the quality, it's a no brainer for me. Even though I LOVE the 3 ct and want it badly, it just won't make good sense at all. I'll let you all know. I will decide after getting this one if I should even look at the SS one.
 
Brightice, I'd love to know your thoughts on all of them. I am sitting tight on any purchase I make--so absolutely no need to worry about me here--I want you to be sure of that. :twirl:

Here's my thoughts: I love, love, love the faceting of the 3.09--it's gorgeous. The photos make it look a tad warm but I really like that in older cuts.

The 3.07 Q-R this is probably my fav in faceting--and the videos of it are fabulous--but since I've never seen a Q-R in person I would be apprehensive about how I'd like the color. I know I like M and N but Q-R is stepping down in color quite a bit so it might be really yellow. I do like that ivory warmth in OEC/ OMC and I do like fancy light yellow--I'm just not sure if I like in between that--ya' know? I also wonder if the seller might be negotiable on his price--it sounded like he was a bit anxious (maybe not anxious, but would like to move this diamond faster than what it has moved)--I just don't think he realized that there isn't a whole lot of buyers for that low of a color. Anyway, something to think about.

I also think the 2.66 is beauuuutiful--and really with the price how can you go wrong? But that being said, it is going to face up smaller than the 3-4 carats "I" said I really wanted and I don't want to have to go through this again when DSS or the "I should have's
start to set in. :wink2:

I can't wait to see which one you end up with. This is exciting!
 
Wow, I have to say, that ebay stone looks pretty nice! What a price - I've been looking around on ebay for a month and am hard-pressed to find decent stones at the 1.5-2.0 mark for this price (the size I'm interested in). I don't know how I missed this one in all of my perusing - a very nice find by dreamer and I'm so curious as to what you think of it in person!
 
I have the 2.66 Ebay stone in hand. Taking it to appraiser this afternoon. It's not an L for sure, more like O-P, S-T. Clarity not sure. I'll let you know.

I can already tell you, I like the 3.09 best!
I am thinking before I even have the appraiser look at it that it is not a great deal. It is beautiful but the color is way off so I can't help but wonder about clarity along with the fact that I can't take it out of the mount for full inspection. I will most likely send it back.

Does anyone want to buy it? I'll put it on DB if so for what I got it for.
