I saw it and agree it's a great deal, but make sure you read their return policy. It leaves a lot to be desired, so I would want to make certain they agreed in writing to a more lenient policy before bidding. It has tons of potential, though! Great find, Dreamer!!

I highly doubt the color is as described so there would be grounds there probably, but you are right, that is a crap return policy. I wonder if it holds any water? Apparently ebay is pretty stiff for sellers these days and those types of caveats don't actually matter... but better to cover your butt.

At the bottom of the listing there is an "ask a question" option. You can contact them as say you are interested in buying it but they must allow you a no questions asked return period. If they won't agree, well then it is more risky because you would have to reply on SND (significantly not as described) which would be a PITA. Communicate totally through ebay so all the messages are saved. Ask the seller to change the lising terms before you buy it so its all on record.

OWD as one very similar, same color, VS2, EGL listed at 16K+.

A true conservative test would be to look up an EGL stone with OP color, or lower. Proceed with caution! Assume stated grades are way off.

Agreed. JbEG have a 2.20 N/O VS clarity stone for just over 10k. The Ebay stone is quite a bit bigger, of course, so it's not an ideal comparison. I think this stone is a potentially killer deal at 8k, but obviously less so at the BIN price. And there's also a lot more risk and hassle involved as well.

THe low price makes me wonder then if there is something not obvious in the listing that is a detriment. I feel like the real deals are when the person is a private seller and may not know what they have, or doesn't have the same vote of confidence of 1000s of feedbacks.

Checked, OWD has a 2.52 N-O VS1, EGL @ $11,498. So, if every thing else checked out as stated other than color (no detrimental nicks, bruising) at BIN it would not be a great deal.

I have spoken with them personally and e-mail contact through e-bay with the owner of the item. They are willing to give me a 7 business days return for any reason, no re-stocking fee, and let me have a BIN for 9K.

It could be due to the yg setting, but I think it's worth a look. $9k is pretty good for that size, and the pattern looks great. If they're willing to do away w/ the restocking fee, I'd want to take a look.

Yes, you may be very right but I think it's worth looking at. They are a wholesaler, swears it's a gorgeous diamond.
