Hi all,

Long story short, I went to visit my grandma today and started polishing some of the stuff in her hutch. My whole life, I never knew this thing was silver. It is so pretty! I can't find this exact set online anywhere. It always stood out to me, and now that I've restored one of the pieces, I'm really curious about its origins. Unfortunately, my grandma cannot remember where or why she got it (Alzheimer's and dementia,) and I think it would be nice to help her refresh her memory a bit. Especially considering how much her face lit up when she saw the finished product.

Thanks, everyone!

Pretty set!
Porcelain with sterling overlay.
Rosenthal was a German company founded in 1879 in Bavaria.
You can find a lot about the company online.
Here is a really good source, and you can look for the mark.
Does this say anything in the red area?

I wasn't able to find too much info for you, but I did find this matching teapot. I have modern Rosenthal porcelain and I love it.

Yessss!! She has a whole set. It is a larger teapot, or maybe a coffee pot? I am not sure.

I'm not sure why I didn't see this before--I will check next time I am there. Thanks so much for the wonderful tip.

Such a beautiful pattern! And what a difference when it's polished, although both ways are lovely. I adore old china tea cups/sets!
