Help me get the most for my money!

Hello all. I just found this site and it has made me realize I know nothing. Could someone please put me in the right direction. I have about 3200 to 3500 to spend. I would like to get the biggest/best diamond possible. I would like a platinum setting by would be willing to go with white golf. In some conversations with my g/f she had always said go with a bigger diamond and white gold instead of a smaller diamond with platinum. She wants a princess cut diamond. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance

In a princess Id stay above h in color and vs2 in clarity if I was in a hurry but if time isnt an issue would track down an eyeclean si1.
