I don''t want to go the custom route so I am asking all the PSers to help me find this setting: Thin bezel with milgrain, the shank is tapered towards the bezel, and it would be nice to have some simple engraving (wheat or flowery) on the band.

1. No custom job
2. No side diamonds
3. Low setting prefered (hence the bezel)

Please help me. I''ve been looking for a while and haven''t found anything even remotely close (unless it was custom). There must be a very simple bezel out there!

I suspect that the vintage looking dainty bezels are fabricated not cast, so they do not come off findings catalogs so... they are not much available off the rack

.

What if this type of ring is a bread & butter signature design somewhere? That wouldn't be 'custom' (i.e. a personalized design). Or would it?

Here's what I mean:

At Peter Indorf's

I''m worried Peter Indorf will be pricy.

I like this except it is too big for my stone and is in yellow gold. It is from Wooden Skates Antiques for only $240.

I also saw this one at Jansjewel at $149 for a 14kt WG version. A little ornate and a tad high but still lower than most out there, while still keeping the antique look. Is the 3/16" height okay with my OEC which has a depth of 3.82mm?

Chrono... you''re asking for a needle in a haystack here bud. Bezels need to fit snugly around the stone ..

What size stone is it again?
What shape?
What budget?

IMO, for the most part ya get what you pay for ... those $100-200 dollar settings you''re finding from lesser-known vendors don''t strike me as long-lasting or well made. If this is for an e-ring, and you want it to LAST, and your budget is $200 ish dollars, you''d probably be better off with a simple white gold solitaire.

i can''t believe i''m going to say this but ebay actually has some nice antique or anitique looking setting for very reasonalbe prices. Blueroses bought a antique setting for an inherited stone and was pleased with it. She hasn''t come back to post pics yet but it''s just an idea of someplace you might want to look. $100 risk on ebay isn''t like the thousands on diamonds some people chance.

Hey chrono, Stuller has it in White gold here for item #12715, it's the closest one i found keeping in mind that we don't know the size of your stone and with bezel it's important.
At least your jeweler can order right size of both a ring and a bezel.

So I guess this doesn''t fit your description of no side diamonds, but is this what you meant by milgrain bezel?

Do you specifically want a bezel or do you just want a low-profile setting? It sounded like you''re more concerned about low-profile. THIS ring looks pretty low profile and it''s got the wheat and tapered band.

Yup, in my haste, I forgot to post that this setting is for a fun RHR. Although I haven't bought the diamond yet, the prospective round OEC a 0.88ct measuring 6.09 x 5.98 x 3.82 The ring isn't to be worn everyday (just a couple of times a month) and doesn't have to last. The budget is no more than $400.

Sunkist,
That is a lovely milgrained bezel you posted. That is exactly what I meant. If only the band was a little thinner and less ornate with no diamond sides. If only that bezel from the first picture could be added to the patterned ring from the second picture you posted.
Please keep the ideas coming.

I happened upon this semi-bezel with an OEC center at Wink''s website. Does it look too modernish?
