:read: I am enlisting the help of my fellow pricescopers to post any settings you think would be perfect for my finger size (6.5-7) and stone (old cut). Would love to see any ideas I haven't thought of. I think this setting sits kind of low and is very straight and thin for my finger.
Thank you :wavey: :wavey:

BGD said they could do this design for me in platinum. Hunt had issues with it because it's best suited to a CAD. But I think it would be lovely for your stone. I don't know if you'd like it, but it would be vintage enough to suit your stone, not thin, and also give you a lot of interest. Plus, since it would be custom from BGD you could have them adjust the center stone height as much as you want, within reason. And you could do any four prong design you liked for the head.

It's a lovely design. The large round is a one pointer, the rest are half pointers and they form a halo around the bezeled baguettes on each side. Center stone pictured is 6.7mm for reference and would look great with a 7mm stone.

That setting design is stunning. I wish I could could figure out a unique design like that for mine.

iliuvdiamonds2- I think your OEC would look great in this!

Hey, I sold the stone, so I'm not using it. If you like it, go for it. Seriously.

Thanks, that's really nice of you. When I get to setting my OEC this fall I might have to talk to them about it :naughty: Maybe they could modify it for my 3.62

I'm positive they could. Worth keeping in mind, if nothing else, right?

Definitely, it can never hurt to have a folder of yummy settings to decide from :Up_to_something:

Sorry for the thread jack, iluvdiamonds2. So what how of rings do you like? Would you prefer a substantial stand alone ring, or a ring you can stack bands with?

Wow! Gypsy, my DH and I are going to hire you! Seriously, love this design.

Iluvdiamonds - I think this would be perfect for your diamond.

Thanks everybody! :wavey:

Gypsy - you're amazing. You have talent!! That setting is so pretty! I love the baguettes too! I love combination settings with a contrast of diamonds/textures - glassy and sparkly, etc...Thanks so much for that pic.

Amys Bling - that setting is pretty (that diamond is gorgeous!) - reminds me of the Alexa ring by Vatche? I forgot to mention that I don't like round diamonds (what I own!) and round halos. I guess it'd have to be a cushion shaped halo.

I've tried different bands, bought 3 in the last year and as you can see it didn't do it for me so to speak.

Junebug - OMG I love the setting. I wonder if it looks bright white/sparkly in person because the last BK ring I saw in person was so dull and lifeless. It was a shame bec her designs are so exquisite!! That setting is really great. Maybe BG can make it.

slg - thanks!!

Army wife - i definitely want to be able to wear one ring with it. I tried on an 11.5mm rectangular halo ring (11.5 mm x 11mm) and it was so big on my finger that I couldn't fit a band next to it. So I guess that would be too much for my finger. I guess I need about 8.5-9.5 mm coverage....total....

The web site I am linking below has some great settings. Elliemay set her OEC in one of their settings.

What do you think of this setting? I saw you mention that you don't like round diamonds as much, so the fishtail prongs will give it a more princess/cushion shape. Plus band has a slight split shank, making the band thicker, but it looks like you could still wear another band with it.

Oooooh that one is gorgeous  I like that one better. Yummy.

I like the profile on that one.

This one has a thicker shank : http://antiqueengagementrings.com/shopping/shopexd.asp?id=2356 and is affordable. ETA: Won't fit a 7mm stone though. Sorry.

What do you think of this setting? It's only $650 in 14K: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120514601768&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123 and I've had friends buy from them with good results.

I was considering this one for a while for a temp for myself. I would have it refinished/repolished if I bought it, but I think it would be lovely. And very affordable.

Thanks!! I appreciate it!

Did you ever get a new setting? BTW - the Bev K are beautiful in person, not sure why the one you saw was lifeless. The ones you see in the shops are sterling silver samples, so that's perhaps why? Tarnished?

Hey! No, still no new setting. I did another post recently showing one ring on finger comparing it next to mine.....
"how high off finger" post in show me the bling. That's so weird they would use silver as samples...how can anyone tell if they'll like it?
anyway, will probably have to custom make something because i can't seem to find the perfect setting.............. :wavey:

I think they cast them in silver because it's more affordable for the jeweler to have them in the cases, since presumably they have to pay for them - and each one is handmade so they would never actually sell the one in the case...

BTW, my Bev K was basically "custom made" if you do see something you like. I'm super happy with the quality and price.

Have you tried on a bunch of settings similar to what you like? Good luck with your search! :)
