As many of you know Nanny's diamond eternity band was stolen. I can't replicate it and don't even want to. Her 95th birthday is coming up in June. She says she feels naked without her ring. I want to buy her another diamond eternity band, but want something different. Her's was bead set and had lovely fillagree on it. So I need some help finding something along those lines. Doesn't have to be an antique. She said what she loved most about that ring was how well the stones were CUT. So no skipping on the quality, there. She doesn't have great vision, but sure can see the sparkle of diamonds, hehe. So if you guys could post some pics for me, I'd really appreciate it. Also I can't spend a fortune either. So keep the prices down too. I don't ask for much do I?? Haha.

Ummm. Fun project! (I hate that the first one was stolen, but am glad you''re trying to keep her bling & spirits high!)

Will take a looksie around! Very thin? Delicate? or Bling-to-the-Max?

She wears a gold wedding band and a sapphire eternity band. So thin but not too thin. She wears a size 7, I think. Bling to the max is out of my budget, haha. Thanks deco!!

Hey Kaleigh, check your email..I sent you a link to a potential I found but I can''t post it here because it won''t let me save the picture?

Art Deco Circa 1920''s Wedding Band
platinum band contains twenty round bead-set diamonds, .45 carats total, F in color and VS2-SI1 in clarity. This 2.5mm wide band has a detailed hand engraved design on the sides and an engraved box between each stone. This is an original vintage art deco band from the 1920''s. Ring size is 7.
$875.00
stock# 7435

This was from www.antiqueengagementrings.com under bands.

hmmm, I wondering if it was an older band if the diamonds were single cut instead of full cut. Leon Mege wrote an interesting article on micropave and how he prefers single cuts in melee because they have fewer facets (17 total facets) and the fewer number facets on a single cut diamond are proportionally bigger and tend to reflect more noticeable flashes of light. They are more $$ though so using them won't keep costs down...

i'll so some looking too

Hey Princess, I think Dem ordered an eternity band from them and wasn''t happy with the quality and ended up sending it back. I guess for the price it might be worth the look?

kaleigh, does she want WG or Plat?

She would want Platinum, guess I can''t get away with WG. Darn it.

Here''s a WG band .51 ctw from Pearlmans for $550

That's too bad! I always thought their stuff was really pretty! But yeah..the price was pretty good IMO guess you get what you pay for.

ETA: Too bad the band I posted is plat as well.

Here''s a Jeff Cooper in Pearlmans''s closeout...plat, size 6 1/2 for 2k..maybe it could go up a half size? would she even like the baguettes?

There's this from Pearlmans too ... $1500 for a pair, maybe he'd sell just one?

Description: tem: 038PO1 - There are actually 2 of these bands being offered. Each ring is set with 13 (26 ) full cut diamonds going 1/2 way around the band approx. 1/2ct each. The diamonds are VS G-H and very finely cut. The rings are platinum, no stamp, and measure 2.3mm each. Size 5 3/4 Both for $1,500.00
Price: $1,500.00

Here's the pix ... too small though ... I didn't see the "size 7" ooops

I wonder if the ring deco posted could be sized though since it''s not full eternity?

I know she would want a full eternity band. That''s what she is used to. But those are lovely rings. I really liked the one with baguettes. But I don''t think she''d want baguettes. RB''s are her fav.

well, full eternity in plat ain''t cheap right now..Did signed pieces have anything you think she''d like? they still seem to have the best prices for eternity bands..

Well...it's an unfortunate situation, but a fun project, nevertheless!!

Lisa, I think looking for an antique eternity band is a good idea. They are notoriously hard to sell (because of the sizing issues) and are often really good values.

I bet lots of antique dealers have stacks of them, but just don't list them on their sites. Why not give NelsonRarities or LangsAntiques or Fay Cullen a call, tell them your budget, and see if they have anything interesting?

Just a thought...

Also to what Widget said, a size 7 is very common, so you may find something spectacular....I really hope so after all of the things y''all have been through!

I know you will find something wonderful for Nanny which she will love, best of luck with it Kaleigh!

Oh Kaleigh, you''re so sweet to replace your Nanny''s ring. I was so hoping it would be returned. Good luck with your search. I know it can never replace the one she had but now she can look at her new one and know how much you love her.

Thanks widget, mokey,Lorelei and moon river. Next week I am taking one of her rings and telling her I need to clean it in my UC. But I am really taking it to make sure of the size to an antique jeweler and perhaps they will have a nice eternity band in her size. They have a great selection from what I''ve seen. If not then I am following up on widget''s wise advice. I''ll keep you posted. I still have plenty of time.

It is so sweet of you to give her another ring Lisa! I hope you find a wonderful vintage eternity ring in her size. It will be special to her because it will be from you.

Lisa, your Nanny is just going to love that you have done this for her. I think it''s a great idea, and I wish you PS fairies and lots of sparkle luck when you hunt for the perfect band.

Hey Kaleigh, I don''t know if you have found what you are looking for for Nanny, but I may have found something worth checking out. It is at knoxjewelers.biz and it is called the engraved eternity band. It is really pretty and a little more special than just the typical eternity. I don''t know anything about this place, but they have pretty things and good prices. Thought I would share. Hope you find something. Mokey

Thanks mokey, I will check it out. I haven''t found anything yet, but haven''t been to the antique jewelery store yet either. I am going this week. Thanks for thinking of her!!

Will your Nanny have her Birthday present early? In that case i guess we can give kaeigh her $ 1000 credit with PS advertisers before 10 000 posts too.

So kaleigh you don''t have to worry about your budget too much.
One condition though, post hand pictures right away.

That is so sweet of you Pricescope! I think this is just what Nanny and Kaleigh need! Some good news and a nice gift. That is wonderful. Please keep us posted! Mokey
