Help me find an emerald

The EC in that picture has to be a smaller than one carat. So if you want to replicate that specific look, I'd be looking at .5 or so.

BUT, I think the EC you linked looks great! Really has potential! I'd consider going to G color to drop price a little, but it looks like a nice EC!

I don't think both the ECs you picked will ASET well. What are the size, colour and clarity (and budget) requirements?

Given the size of the ring I wanted to replicate - maybe $3k max for the stone and the ring. I'm having a hard time finding the thin pave shank too .. :S

5 x 3 mm?
What is your lowest colour threshold?

This is a GORGEOUS stone but it is a lot bigger than the inspiration ring. Are you sure you want to go as small as the inspirational ring? You might get DSS..... :naughty: just saying.....

I think the inspiration ring is stunning :) I have a new 1.7ct asscher and don't think I can afford a 3ct EC so soon.. I love step cuts! ;)

Yes - 5x3 sounds about right. I like EC to be really clear and white - maybe F/G?

Also wonder if it would be more interesting to set it with a sapphire instead?

Okay, I'll see what's available. A sapphire will be interesting but CS is all about colour because the sparkle factor comes nowhere close to a diamond's. Not only that, step cuts are extremely uncommon unless you are open to custom cutting, which costs more. You can do a PS search on NSC to read about their customer service review.

Not seeing anything nice on JA for under $2K, Saw 2 ECs with potential but not sure about the low-ish looking crown height.

If JA doesn't work out, I would look to Good Old Gold when you are ready to purchase. They are wonderful and will usually be able to source exactly what you are looking for. Good luck ad enjoy!

Thanks.. Hesse are gorgeous. A slight change of heart at the moment though and I'm thinking of OEC diamond bangle ... PS is bad for diamond lovers!

I did!! I contacted the seller but it's a size 6. I'm size 4 - do you think it can be resized down 2 sizes given the pave shank?

I am new, but that ring was my inspiration ring too!! :)

I found a .64 ct on JA and am pairing it with the thin french cut pave setting on their site. I would love to go a little bigger in size, but budget allows for about that.

Keep us posted on whether you create that ring or buy the one for sale!!
