Hello Everyone!

I'm helping my friends get a diamond for their ERing and I figured what better place to ask for help than from the lovely people on PS?!!!!! :appl: :appl: :appl:

I hope you folks can help me the way you've helped so many others in the past :loopy:

Here's what they are looking for:

Round
Preferably a modern cut
I color or less
Clarity doesn't matter really as long as it's eye clean (so I guess SI or better)

Budget is 3000 for the stone.

Thanks!!!! :D

ETA - is 3000 a reasonable budget for this type of diamond? Sorry, still very new

im assumming the would like an ideal/excellent cut...

Duh! Show's how new I am to all this

They are looking for something around .75ct if possible.

As far as the cut goes, I meant a more modern round. Not the rounds that have that vintage look like from GOG...Gosh, I hope I'm explaining this right! I'm drawing a blank on the proper term for this type of round...round brilliant cut maybe??

Thanks!!!

Thank you so much for your help Amy :wavey:

This may sound like a dumb question, but since I'm still new in this community I don't really know what one would do to confirm that a stone is eye clean. Do I just call them and ask? Do they purchase the diamond first and then once they get it, they make their decision?

Sorry for million questions! :knockout:

All the options posted are beautiful!

ooohhh brs1804 that stone is to die for!!!!

Keep the suggestions coming if possible.

Thanks again!! I'm getting super excited!!!!! :appl: :appl: :appl:

here's a couple to look at that I ran through the HCA tool here on Pricescope. You may want to do some more looking with it pulled up on a separate tab you can switch back and forth to and also give a read through some of Good Old Gold's articles on cut color and clarity. In my own recent diamond searches, I found I was a lot more color sensitive than I thought with the modern stones, and didn't like the look of anything below I, and preferred F G H colors...

.73 ct, HCA 1.3 : http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/I-VS2-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1433502.asp
.73 ct, HCA 1.5: http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/H-VS1-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1469426.asp

Good luck!

yes- call them and ask about the stone..

thank you so much for your help everyone!

I'm going to see if they can make a trip to a Tiffany's or something so they can look at different colored live center stones. She said she wants the diamond to be at white as possible, but she's not sure how sensitive she is to color.

I'm saving all the links. If anyone comes across any other diamonds in the .75ct range, please feel free to keep adding links! :twirl:

Just keep in mind- getting an ideal cut stone at .75ct an higher than I color may be difficult- so she should prioritize what balance between size and color is important to her...
