Hi Pricescopers!

I'm finally ready to pull the trigger on a ring for my lady. I am hoping to get this ring by Christmas. We have narrowed down the requirements to the following:
Setting:
>Size 5
>Victorian Halo with or without paving
>Cushion shaped
>Single Shank
>White gold 14ct

Diamond:

>Single MODERN cut Diamond between .7-.9 ct
>VS1 to SI1
>Cut Quality: Very Good - Excellent
>Color: D-J
>Flourescence: Faint-None
>Polish: Very Good - Excellent
>Symmetry: Very Good - Excellent

>Budget $5000

Now, I have become a fan of good cut quality since starting my research. The lady, on the other hand, just wants it sparkly
I have been looking at ASET images and using the Holloway Cut Advisor, which has just caused more confusion on my end. I really like the look of the hearts and arrows diamonds, but if I can save some money getting a non branded cut that has good cut quality, then I'm all for that. I really just want this thing to sparkle,

Here is the setting we like from Gabriel:

Here are some stones:

http://www.goodoldgold.com/ecommerce/0-7ct-h-vs2-superior-round-hearts-and-arrows-diamond.html

So, what do you guys think? This setting is out of stock on Gabriel's website, so I fear I may not be able to get it soon. Do you know of any similar settings?

I like both of those settings Neil picked out. You're going to have to move quickly if you want to get the ring by Christmas. ;))

Hi Niel and VRBeauty,

I will call GOG this morning to find out the timeline. I thought we had a winner with the Octagon Halo Niel recommended from JA, but the lady said no :wall:

She did like this one from JA, because of the laurel pattern:

Would this setting look ok with a .7-.8 ct cushion? This design came out of left field for me, and would require changing gears and get a cushion stone. I think I am going to stick with the original plan, due to the timeline. Will post back.

I saw this and thought of you as well

the type of cut it is, is sort of between a round and a cushion. And over .9 cts!

there wouldn't be halos in the budget, but these settings sort of look like that JA one she liked
