Everytime I think I understand everything, I learn something else new! I am looking for a center stone for an engagement ring, my girlfriend is an artist and has a VERY sharp eyes so I''m not sure I trust an SI1, though some of the pictures look great. The ring is 18k white gold and has G-color VS-quality micro pave, so as I understand it the center stone should be close to G-color to not stand out. I know you guys always push for I and SI with larger ct, but in her case I think quality over size is more fitting.. she just loves clean and elegant.
CT: .5ct roughly, I don''t mind dipping under a bit or even surprising her with .75 if it was an outstanding deal.. looking for value for money here
Cut: Excellent only, H&A preferred
Color: G-H
Clarity: VS2+, possibly SI1 with pictures and visual clean
I am still leaning to Blue Nile signature ideal cut, as they are all H&A with excellent numbers, polish, etc, and supposedly visually inspected. I could get a .51ct H VS2 there for under $1400 and feel pretty secure it would look amazing. But I keep coming back here hoping to find something I can trust to look as stunning with either a lower cost, or a larger diamond! I only get to do this once so want to get a great deal.. what do you guys recomend?
