I''m trying to decide between these two stones? Can you help me...

Blue Nile Diamond
Adiamor Diamond

They are both about 5,000 and I want to get the best one, but I just don''t know. Thanks a ton... I think that the one from Adiamor is a little better but I just don''t know. I think that it is a little bigger, and the dimensions mean it will look bigger also.

Hi Joeya,

Definitely pass on the BN diamond, it is what we call a steep deep with the angle configuration, it will very likely leak light and not be an attractive diamond.

The second is better but it is too deep for my liking, also an Idealscope or ASET image would be very useful for those angles too, I don't know if Adiamor supply these images though.

If you like, if you give us an idea of your budget for the diamond, your carat, colour and clarity preferences, we could suggest some diamonds which might suit you?

I want to spend around $5000 dollars and hopefully get a VS1,G,F color about 1carat. I haven''t been able to find that perfect stone, yet.

I had a look for you, if you would lower the colour to H and drop slightly below the 1 carat mark, then that brings up more options.

I''d probably pass on both of these personally. I think you can find a better cut diamond. Definitely check out the links Lorelei pointed out. It''s nice to work with a vendor that has images and H/SI diamonds can still be very white and clear if well-cut. Really!!!
