Hello everyone,
I've lurked on this website for the past few months and through the testimonials from many of you, I've decided to get a Crafted by Infinity diamond set in a Vatche U113 Solitaire (platinum) for my soon-to-be fiance. My budget for the stone is $8,500 but if I could save a few dollars by going down in clarity and color (as long as the stone faces up white and is eye clean) to get in the $7,500 range, that would be my preference.
Working with Wink has been wonderful so far. He answers my emails almost immediately and is always around for a quick call. Wink definitely puts me at ease as a first time diamond buyer. He has recommended the following stone, a 1.00C, I, Si1, AGS 000: http://www.winkjones.com/index.php?page=view-id-diamond-infinity-new&id=1351. Here is a video Wink himself personally put together for me : http://handshake2.jivesystems.com/videos/xvst21tq85. Wink has confirmed that the stone faces up white and is eye clean. The black spots I am told are picked up by the camera but are not noticeable to the naked eye. My only concern would be that the spots would show up in a picture that my girlfriend takes of the ring for Facebook or whatever.
I am going to have this stone as well as couple of his others sent to a local independent appraiser so I can decide on which one to pick in person. Based on my budget and Wink's inventory: http://www.winkjones.com/index.php?...how_infinity=1&Submit=++++Search++++&limit=50, which stones should I request a viewing of?
Question #2 - Should I go with the standard Vatche ring or the 90/10 platinum/iridium combination or something else? It sounds like there isn't an extra charge either way but I know some recommend different metal combinations for various reasons.
Thanks so much. The knowledge that I have developed as a result of this website has been immensely helpful.
