Hi Guys,

I''m absolutely in love with this particular setting from Hearts on Fire. As soon as I saw I thought ''it''s the one!'' I tried on the version with diamonds on the band at the shop yesterday and was pretty much blinded by the sparkles. I thought maybe this was a bit too much but they didn''t have the version that was diamondless on the band. I thought that one might look more elegant and less ''demanding''. I''m putting up photos of the two.

Has anyone seen version 2 in person? Is it beautiful in realife? or does it make much less impression than version 1? Let me know your thoughts regardless of whether you''ve seen them in person.

Wendy

p.s. please don''t turn this thread into a ''you can buy a cheaper diamond elsewhere thread''. I''m just concerned about the setting style thanks!

Hmmm, I'm usually a "less is more" kinda gal, but with this particular setting, I think I like the pave band option best. I've not seen them in person. If you really liked that one, you could always pair it with a vey thin, plain band, to keep it a bit "quieter".

I have to agree with Ellen...I usually love the way the halos look with the metal shanks. I just really like the combination
but for this ring I tend to like the shank with diamonds also. I think its beacause there is a lot going on in the halo
(with the large airline opening). The plain metal shank is one more texture going on and I dont think it needs it. In other
words, for this setting, more is less. I say go pave all the way.

Sorry, I havent seen either in person.

The other thing i''m worried about is how likely the diamonds will fall out of the ring shack. If I wear this ring on a daily basis, would the friction between fingers loosen them? Is it a frequent thing that happens? That''s also one of the reasons why I thought i might need to go with the full metal version.

I vote #2, I love the look of just the halo being the center of the attention, and if you are worried about more stones and the likelyhood it falling out, well then I''d go with #2

I have to say that lots of people have shanks with diamonds on them. Some have worn them for years without
losing a stone and some have lost more than one stone. I''m sure it depends a lot on how well the setting is made,
how much one knocks their ring around and how much plain luck you have. I would definitly think these settings
are well made. We have other HOF setting owners on PS (Risingsun for one) who can comment on how well
they are made.

But...if losing a stone is a major concern for you then I would go with fewer stones (metal shank). If possible
losing a stone somewhere down the line and having to have it replaced isnt going to bother you AND if you
really want that look of a diamond shank then I would go with that one. You really have to decide for yourself
what your concerns/priorities are.

How well a pave band holds up is in large part due to how well it's made. I would "imagine" HOF settings are made very well, though I have no personal experience with their settings. A poster recently got a HOF setting with pave, you could always ask her what she thinks about it.

EDIT, typing at same time as ty!

tyty and Ellen have asked me to comment on the HOF setting, so here I am

First of all, I have seen and tried on the Repertoire setting with the diamonds on the shank. I much prefer it to the plain shank. I have had no problem with the diamond melee on the shank or halo falling out of my ring. I do take it in in periodically for a prong check. HOF rings have a warranty, so no worries there. IMHO, HOF settings are beautifully made. I have several of their pieces and all of them are well made to my "picky" standards. The Repertoire has a matching wedding band. It makes a lovely set

#1 calls my name. Just something really feminine going on there!

Thank you guys for the responses. For some reason none of the stores carry version 2 in stock. They need to be specially ordered. So i''m really tearing my hair our now over this cos I know I''m buying this setting but I don''t know if the plain metal shank would make the ring look ''cheaper'' (sorry, can''t think of a better word but you probably know what I mean)

I was initially thinking version 2 but it seems more people are like the first. O~o

here is a picture (not HOF) but from whiteflash with plain shank, This is Tawn''s Gorgeous ring. Although it is a split shank, you can kind of get the idea maybe this might help?

version 1 has my vote...I love bling down the band

I tried on the first one at the HOF retail store in Borgata and it''s lovely!
