I need to decide on a size for a solitaire pendant. I either buy a .50ct bezel set pendant (second hand) or I use my original .72ct e-ring stone. I would like the pendant to be at least .50ct. My current e-ring is .91ct F. I'll probably be getting earrings that are .92ctw and in the G-I range. My .72ct stone is an E and I'm wondering if that is too high of a color for a pendant -- considering that my earrings will be G-I and my e-ring is an F. I could sell my .72ct and buy a .50ct pendant. What would you do? My e-ring and earrings are prong setting and the pendant will be bezel so that will add a little to it's size.

E-ring .91 F VVS2 (prong)

Pendant .72 E or ??? (bezel)

Earrings .92 ctw G-I (prong)

I would absolutely use the .72 for the pendant! The color does not matter as it won't be sitting next to any of your other diamonds, and it is only one color grade different from your e-ring which can't even be detected. I certainly would rather have a .72 over a .50 for the pendant anyway.

^^^ I agree! I would definitely go with the .72, that's a great size for a pendant and the slight color difference won't be detectable.

OK, I'm back. I bought a .65ct bezel set pendant necklace and received it today. It's beautiful and in excellent condition. The thing is, it looks more like the size of .50ct. Is it possible that an approximation of .65ct in bezel setting could be off by 15 pts? I got my earrings which are .92ctw H-I color, and this pendant looks the same size (just a bit bigger).

Thinking I want a larger size now, lol

If it matters, I'm 5'7" and slim (size 2/4)

Also, my potential upgrade plan is 1-1.5 ctw for the earrings (I currently have .92 ctw), .75-1.0 for the pendant (I have a .72 stone I can use), and somewhere around 1.3-1.5 for the e-ring (I have .91 right now).
