Based on the IS and ASET images, which stone would you choose. Both are the same size, color and clarity. Thank you.

Based on the images, #2 looks slightly more symmetrical to my eyes so that would be my pick.

I'm guessing number two as well - but I bet they are both beautiful!

Something about #2 makes me like it more

I see nothing that would make me choose one over the other, so if the color is the same, I'd choose the one with better clarity (as in preferable location and type of inclusions).

#2 looks cleaner to me - looking at the 2 and 7 o'clock areas towards the perimeter of number 1. But I hasten to add that I'm a newbie when it comes to looking at these images!

They look basically completely identical to me. Based on the ASET and Idealscope images, I would select number one I guess. Stone two looks like it's showing a teeny tiny bit of leakage in the center from the IS.

ETA: Andelain, do they both have the same HCA scores?

I like number one. There's something about the arrows at 9 o'clock on #2 that I don't like.

Thanks for the input, everyone, please keep it coming. :wavey:

Both stones have very similar inclusions, are eye-clean VS clarity stones. #1 rates 1.4 EX-EX-EX-VG on the HCA using crown/pav angles, and 2.1 G-EX-EX-VG using crown/pav percentages. #2 rates 2.6 VG-VG-VG-VG using crown/pav angles, and 1.4 EX-EX-EX-VG using crown/pav percentages. I'm thinking they both show a little leakage, I'm just trying to pick the better of the 2.

Thanks all! :wavey: :wavey:

Tough choice (luckily both good :)) ...do you have a preference for wider or thinner arrows? The first one looks to have
ever-so-slightly wider arrows and the second looks to have thinner arrows.

Just trying to find some way to help distinguish between the two. I'd take either in a heartbeat!

They look sooo similar; it's really a toss up for me. Are they the same carat weight and price too? Either will be beautiful.

They're within 3 points of each other. There is a price difference, but I'm keeping that off the table for the moment. I'll spill the details on these later. Thank you. :wavey:

I had to wait until Bob could slap a hold on them for me, but here's the stones...

With this info, what do you think? #1, #2, or a different stone altogether? Thanks for all opinions. :wavey:

#2 considering the price difference! :o

Isn't that something? $1500 difference for the same color and clarity. I've never seen that much difference, and sometimes have gotten ACA's cheaper than non-ACA's. That ES seems to be at 2010 prices to me. I'm still comparing, though.

It certainly looks that way! It's cheaper than any other in house comparable by at least 20%! Very nice find. :appl:

Goodness! I do think one of those prices must be a mistake or something because they are too far apart. I have zero problem with the ES stone and would definitely choose it with that kind of price difference. If it was a couple hundred, I'd usually go with the ACA, but not with that much difference!

Liza confirmed the price is legit. I did notice the cert is 2 years old on this one, wonder if it's been languishing that long. Would that concern you?

Well, the numbers confirmed that do I like diamond # 1 better, and # 2 might be showing a tiny bit of leakage with the steeper crown and slightly steeper pav angle, BUT if the price difference is that huge, I'd go with # 2. I like to feel like I got a good buy, and the ES stone is probably the way better value!

I like the IS on 2 better. There is no real clear cut winner; they both show some leakage in the center, but I feel the center on 2 is more uniform, although the angle numbers on stone 1 are "better"

Plus the price.

For some reason, I feel ASETs don't really help as much as IS images do... is that just me?

I think one is just tilted in the IS picture. I am not sure if that really is leakage, since it doesn't go all the way around the table.

Agreed^, since the arrows are shorter on the bottom it's likely tilted.

Ahh, good call! I didn't even see that.

They both look beautiful to me, but I would take the ACA. It will be a little disco ball on your hand, neck or ear :appl:

I was leaning that way, but now I'm thinking I should choose the ES. The fact that I'm living on disability payments is a big factor in my choice here. That, and I did hear back from Bob at WF today. Here's what he said, "Doing a very serious comparison of the two the ACA has the edge but they are very close. They would make a great pair of earrings. Is the difference worth $1,500? You have to decide. If I were making the purchase I would go for the ACA diamond but I am more picky than most. I think you would be happy with either one."

He also send me this pic...

Does the cert being 2 years old concern anyone? If so, what would you do about it? Thanks

Wow, they look nearly identical! I would save myself the extra money and get the ES.

The cert being two years old doesn't bother me personally.
