Yeah.. I expressed I want it clean to the naked eye w/#2 and he assures me its an awesome stone. Both stones are PS vendors.

There''s only about a hundred dollars diff. between them. Trying to get idealscope to load for #2 (image too large). Anything else I should check?? I expressed to both vendors I want a very lively stone.

Thanks for the help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Still waiting on a question about the incusions on #2 (.90 D SI2 GIA)

I really like the # 1 stone (.845 G VS2 AGS) and I''m sure its beautiful but I''m still hoping to stretch my dollar a little further....
(prob. will purchase #1 if I dont find a better stone in the next day or two)

Both diamonds are in the $3500 range.

Anybody wanna help find me that perfect stone??? Or is this about as good as it gets fr my budget??

My budget is $3700 for now.. because I need to leave some money for the setting. I''m looking for lots of sparkle and shine, a very lively stone. I''d also like to get a little more than the .845, however I''m begining to realize this may not happen.

What are your opinions??????????????????

My budget was right around the same... I wound up with a .836 G VS1 ACA. You''ll be hard pressed to get in the 1ct range on that budget if you want to keep reasonable color and clarity, and even then, keep in mind it''ll be gosh-darn near impossible to tell the difference in size between a .8x ct and a 1ct... you''re generally looking at .2-.4mm across the diameter of the diamond. Could you tell if you had two loose stones next to each other on a table? Probably... could you tell set in a ring, 6" away from each other? no way.

If you''re looking for ''guaranteed'' lots of sparkle and shine (quite like me) look around in the ACA collection for a bit, though that ES stone is by no means bad!

Yeah.. ACA would be really nice. Sounds like you have a nice diamond!

thanks!! in my completely unbiased opinion, i think it''s pretty good

one other thing... if you step up to ACA, you get their lifetime upgrade policy... so as long as you buy an ACA worth more than the original, they give you full value back towards the new stone. to me, that alone is worth the price of admission...

best of luck in your search! what''s your timeframe look like?

I''m flexible on the time.. It would be nice to have it around the end of December but whenever really.

i see. the reason i asked is because when i was on the phone with WF, the rep said their holiday season turnover really picks up starting now-ish, and i''m sure that''s true for all vendors. so on the plus side, you can hang out for a bit and keep looking, and you have a better chance at finding ''the'' rock... but on the minus side, you have to jump quickly, cause the stone might not be around for long. plus, all ACA''s are in-house, so there should be minimal processing time. just something to keep in mind... though you''ll have to be careful about always making phone calls
