My budget is $3700 for now.. because I need to leave some money for the setting. I''m looking for lots of sparkle and shine, a very lively stone. I''d also like to get a little more than the .845, however I''m begining to realize this may not happen.

My budget was right around the same... I wound up with a .836 G VS1 ACA. You''ll be hard pressed to get in the 1ct range on that budget if you want to keep reasonable color and clarity, and even then, keep in mind it''ll be gosh-darn near impossible to tell the difference in size between a .8x ct and a 1ct... you''re generally looking at .2-.4mm across the diameter of the diamond. Could you tell if you had two loose stones next to each other on a table? Probably... could you tell set in a ring, 6'' away from each other? no way.
If you''re looking for ''guaranteed'' lots of sparkle and shine (quite like me) look around in the ACA collection for a bit, though that ES stone is by no means bad!
I''m flexible on the time.. It would be nice to have it around the end of December but whenever really.Date: 11/18/2009 6:09:43 PM

thanks!! in my completely unbiased opinion, i think it''s pretty good![]()
one other thing... if you step up to ACA, you get their lifetime upgrade policy... so as long as you buy an ACA worth more than the original, they give you full value back towards the new stone. to me, that alone is worth the price of admission...
best of luck in your search! what''s your timeframe look like?
