Help me choose 1.7 RB ACA v BGD blue

Longtime lurker and now about ready to buy. Looking for your advice on which of these two stones to buy.

The BGD a has a HCA of 1.6 and the ACA has .08 so both are going to be beautiful. Do you all think one is better than the other or should I buy another band with the money I'd save with the BGD one? Any other ideas of stones to look at? I'm looking for H VS2 around 1.75 ctw or so.

I'm going to set it in size 6 Sholdt semibezel aka elle_chris, portlandkelly and audball (thanks ladies for turning me on to this setting!).

Id get the BGB. I like fluor and I like the price. get a better setting, or put it toward wedding bands like you say.

Both gorgeous stones so you cant go wrong, however in this case I agree with Neil. I like the saving.

Well, if they were the same size, I would probably go with the one that costs less. But the WF stone is larger, so it is a matter of whether you want the largest stone or the cheapest stone! I have had a 7.6 mm stone before and it was nice, but I'd go for the largest if you don't think an upgrade is in your future!

Shoot that'll be quite the upgrade!

Honestly I wouldn't worry about the size difference, unless for some reason you have a "mind clean" issue of getting over 1.7cts


What would you do with the difference? Pocket it,put it toward the setting? I saw you mention a band, what band?

Would you wear it alone? It sounds like the diamonds would rub up on the e ring if you were wearing it together. Maybe I'm imagining it wrong.

I wouldn't wear the band with the e ring. Trying to talk myself into buying two rings that I wouldn't wear together! Not a bad problem to have in the grand scheme of things.

Nope, they would be for the same hand. The FJ band is on super clearance, been in the store several years so it's as is and will only fit my left hand ring finger. I think I'd wear it a lot though, so probably worth it.

If you think you would wear it, i would absolutely buy the bg and that band. honestly, what 3% larger or a whole other ring? doesnt seem like much of a contest.
