Hello all, I'd love your help buying an oval shaped diamond bangle.
I plan on wearing the bangle daily and would prefer the oval shape, I think a round bangle would be too jangly for me (I work at a keyboard). My hands and wrists are quite small, my wrists are 16cm. My daughter has a play bangle with an inner diameter of 5.5cm and an outer diameter of 6.5cm and I find that reasonably comfortable. My budget is $2,000 - $3000 USD (I'm in the UK so I need to factor in the exchange rate and import duties and charges).
So far the bangle I find most visually appealing is a baguette style from JA (https://www.jamesallen.com/bracelet...ellow-gold-baguette-diamond-bangle-item-65797). I like the clean profile but - I'm not convinced the baguettes would sparkle and for me the sparkle and flashes of colour are why I love diamonds. I'm also thinking ahead, say in ten years' time, and whether or not the style would be too young or have dated. So I think I need to stick to round diamonds. I also plan on this being my only diamond bangle (I don't wear much jewellery).
What are your thoughts on the difference between 1ct and 1.5cts? - I'm thinking that if this is a one-time purchase I should aim for 1.5cts but I'm wondering if with my lack of height (5ft) whether 1ct bangle with enough sparkle would fit the bill. Lastly, I'm also wondering if buying the bangle setting and stones separately and having the bangle made in the UK is an option worth considering.
I'd love to see your oval bangles in action
