I did see this posted earlier this year but not the same person SAME SCENARIO! I am heading to Greece and want to propose to my gf after 8 years.

I am having trouble with stones. She wants a princess cut also. Costco has a complete ring with the following:

2.01 Center Stone Princess
GIA Cert
Square Modified Brilliant
Measurements: 7.24 x 7.10 x 5.06 mm
Carat Weight: 2.01 carat
Color Grade: I
Clarity Grade: VS2
Proportions:
Depth: 71.3%
Table: 73%
Girdle: Thin to Medium
Culet: None
Finish:
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Very Good
Fluorescence: None

Its mounted in platinum with a total of 3.7 carats made up of smaller princess cut diamonds and round diamonds on the perimeter. Great looking ring.
Price: $18999.00

Not sure if this is a good deal. For the princess, I did see others posted on the forum for 2.0 princess with excellent polish and symmetry for about $11K so the question is if the extra 1.7 carats and platinum setting are worth teh $7500.00 price? I am sure the smaller stones are of good quality.

Also, I have a used princess diamond mounted on platinum with a 2.56 center stone along with two 1/2 carat princess cut for a total of 3 stones and 3.56 cttw for $12K. This is on the secondary market (Used) but never really worn. Has a receipt for $18K a year ago but it did not work out.

EGL US Cert.

Depth 71.9
Table 77
Crown 7.0
Pavilion 61.2
Girdle Ex. Thin to SL Thick Polished
Polish Good
Sym Good
Clarity VS2
Color I
Flour None

Not bothered by the used stone as the cert is only about a year old and I may just reset it with a new setting.

Any opinions.
