Hi everyone. I was referred to Pricescope by a friend a while ago and have been reading and learning ever since. However, today I finally decided to make a post of my own.

In the near future, I plan on proposing to my girlfriend and want to get her a perfect diamond. She wants a decent size round cut diamond in a setting similar to the Tiffany Deco Inspired ring. I've been looking at a lot of loose diamonds, and I think that I found a good one. Let me know what you think.

The stone is an AGS certified stone with an "old" Diamond Quality Document dated October 2004. The stats are as follows:

Dimensions: 8.03-8.09 x 4.97 mm
Cut Grade: 0
Polish: 0
Symmetry: 0
Proportions: 0
Color Grade: AGS 1.5 (G)
Clarity Grade: AGS 5 (SI1) (Per the report, the inclusions are pinpoints)
Carat Weight: 2.007
Table: 56%
Crown: 34.7°
Pavilion: 40.5°
Girdle: 1.7-2.4%

On the HCA, the score is 0.5-Excellent within TIC range (can someone tell me what TIC stands for?) which seems pretty good. What is the best score on the HCA - is it 0 or 1?

The stone looks beautiful and I can't see the pinpoints with my eyes, but I am somewhat concerned that the old AGS report does not have the light performance rating like the new AGS certs. Am I being crazy, or should I just get this thing???

Thank you in advance for your help!

this sounds like everything you want in a diamond and those 2ct. stones can be hard to find. so yes, if you love this diamond and the price is right, just get it!

you can read more about hca scores on the hca page. in short, no, 0 is not better. there is no such thing really as ''better'' once you get in the under 2.0 range.

best of luck!

TIC stands for Tolkowsky Ideal Cut which as I understand it is supposed to combine the properties of a Brilliant Ideal Cut and a Fiery Ideal Cut. It looks like you''ve found a very nice diamond there.
