Thank you to everyone on here! I have narrowed my search for an engagement diamond to two. I need some help deciding which one is better. Here are my choices!

Diamond 1
G, SI1
Depth %: 60.5
Table %: 57.2
Crown Angle: 34.7
Pavilion Angle: 40.6
Girdle: Thin to Medium Faceted

Diamond 2
VS1 I
Depth %: 61.3
Table %: 55.5
Crown Angle: 34.7
Pavilion Angle: 40.7
Girdle: Thin to Medium Faceted

They both look great, check the SI clarity is eyeclean to your standards by asking the vendor ( I take it these are their branded cut?), then you can go from there.

Ditto. Can''t go wrong with either.

Thanks Lorelei and Ellen! Will there be any visual difference with the table % and the depth between the two? Diamond 1, with the smaller depth % is the smaller of the two, but has just about the same diameter. Also, the setting has an open side and is in white gold, will the I look yellow? Thank you so much again!

No, it will not look yellow. Maybe a "winter white", but never yellow in a great cut like this. How big are these? The larger the stone, the more the warmth may show.

On the tables, both are fine, and you wouldn''t really notice a big difference. The smaller table might make the stone have just a "hair" more fire, but I would not base the decision on that. Both will be gorgeous stones!

Just to help you "get the picture", here''s a thread with well cut J''s in Plat.

Thanks for the link Ellen! I feel a lot better about the I now. My GF said that being eye clean was a major priority, and she would rather have a bigger stone and a lesser color. Therefore, I am leaning towards Diamond 2. Diamond 1 is 0.73 and diamond 2 is 0.805. Any other comments about the two?
