HELP! I can''t decide!!! Need your advice on a Cushion!

HI!

I''m new to this and finally decided to register and join after spending hours reading post after post. I really need help confirming a diamond that my boyfriend is buying. I''m soooo stressed out right now and would LOVE AND APPRECIATE any insights or thoughts.

We went to New York and spoke to ERD regarding the following diamond. We saw five and this one really stood out to us. Its was preeeetty

However, since I''ve been surfing this site, I''m getting a few reservations. I suppose I don''t mind the depth so much since it was a pretty stone but the girlde was so thick. The dimensions seem small as well for a 2 carat and I feel as if my BF is paying for a 2 carat but getting a 1.9 which would substantially cost less. This rock is costing him 18.5K. I feel as if we could get a just as beautiful but bigger stone and that we''re paying a premium for useless carats. Its currently being mounted and I don''t know if we should halt it and wait for something with a more appropriate spead since I feel we''re paying so much? Or stick with this smaller but beautiful stone. Or is this price a bit much? PPLEAASE help. ERD has been great and really helpful but I feel as if I need other opinions.

If you''re feeling this way, it might be a good idea to halt the mounting process and look at other options. Sure you like the stone but it doesn''t sound like you''re totally in love with it. And I don''t think it is wise to be spending that much of money without considering what else is out there for the $$... At the very least you could say you have looked at others and none came close to matching your ''chosen one''...

Ditto DF. it sounds like if you continue on with this particular stone, it''s going to nag you. So have a look around, at other vendors and see if anything strikes your fancy. If not, then you can have peace of mind in your decision. Becuase it is a lot of money!
