Help Help Help! So my budget is about $10000 for the diamond. So I'm looking for the best combo of quality and size. Like everyone else probably I'd like the most sparkle/brialliance/light return. Specific preferences I would like is 1.3cts -1.5cts, either G or H in color, I would prefer VS2 or VS1, but I would entertain SI1 as well.

Thank you in advance for the help

What budget would put me in their signature lines? I am a bit flexible

Your budget just takes you out of some of the signature lines at High Performance Diamonds, White Flash, Brian Gavin, Good Old Gold, etc, but this one at James Allen looks great. 60/60 stone, 1.7 HCA, GIA triple excellent, photographs beautifully.

Come down to an I color, SI2, and you'll be in business at some the more prestigious retailers named above.

The stone I posted above is A Cut Above - Whiteflash's signature line.

Brian Gavin has a couple of options that are his signature diamonds, albeit they're a tad smaller than you wanted. I think with $10K you're looking at a super ideal cut diamond (or the signature lines) closer to 1.2 to 1.3 carats.

Should I even worry about the fact that some of these are SI2 or SI1... Am I crazy for leaning towards VS clarity or is it just a waste of money?

For an I rating, it depends on the cut and the stone. Some face up very white and others do not. From the 360 picture, it looks a tad yellow to me. This is my opinion only….I would go for a higher color and a lower clarity. An eye clean SI1 will not have inclusions visible to the naked eye. This could allow you to stay in the G or H color range.

Also for that diamond I do not see the CA or PA. There's no ASET or IS either.

That makes sense...

Any other suggestions for a G color eye clean around 1.3-1.5 cts? For 10K-11K.

Hello,

I am not a diamond expert, but you may want to do research, check out these Top Diamonds, and find a good Pawn Shop that is recommended. You could get a fantastic buy. My knowledge is in colored stones, and I sometimes purchase jewelry at pawn shops to use the mountings, and have noticed some great looking items.

I'm loving that 1.33 G VS2 on Whiteflash that RR posted. It's an ACA too! Put it on hold!

I went with the diamond you all suggested...

I should receive it on Thursday evening, have an appointment to get it appraised on Friday, and meet give it to the jeweler that night... 2 or 3 weeks then a ring!

Great news!

That would should definitely be a winner.

Let us know the results of the appraisal, as it is always interesting to hear more insight on this sort of topic!

:appl: It's going to be gorgeous!!

Can't wait to see the stone set in the setting. Please post pictures of it and of course when the time comes we'd love to see hand shots!

The appraisal should be interesting... The appraiser is highly regarded and uber over qualified. So I'll absolutely post the info.

He's going to view the diamond prior to and after it's given to the jewler and set in the ring to ensure it's the same diamond.
