One reason is that the virtual facets are to small to be effective in any but bright and or direct light.
In tiny princess cuts table glare is about the only light return you will get from them in some common lighting.

Exactly.
Under 1/2carat they drop off, and at 0.10cts and below there is no one home.
In very small sizes like that you can channel set rounds with a lot of metal over the edges and still have a continuos look - and the rounds will still appear bigger than the princess which also have a smaller spread.

It is also hard to chip rounds and hard not to chip princess during setting.

thank you for your answer!!!

Now, since I am not a native speaker, I am not sure if I understand your sentence "In very small sizes like that you can channel set rounds with a lot of metal over the edges and still have a continuos look - and the rounds will still appear bigger than the princess which also have a smaller spread."
what does it mean, that with round stones, I will have more output?

I especially liked the continuous look of the princess in a channel set because there is no gap, and less ossibility for the dirt to sit bewtween the gaps....
The tw would be around 3 for a size 6.... I guess it is stll too small.
what about cushion? or asher?

I am grateful for your advice!

What Garry is saying is that because of the higher light return in a round and the lack of edge to edge brilliance in small princess cuts the rounds will look more continuous when on the finger.
