It's been a very long time since I taught secondary school senior English and French so I'm not really sure of the current protocol with regard to marks. I would appreciate anyone's help on this.
Our granddaughter is intelligent and not only works hard, but she works smart. That being said, she has access to her final report card via the internet, of course. Her final marks (including final exams) give her an 84.5% , but in order to qualify for a scholarship to the university that she chose and that has accepted her, she needs 85% . One half of a percent is at stake for a $1000. scholarship. In your experience, is there a way to round that 84.5 to an 85%?
As I remember during promotion meetings a couple of teachers would chip in and give a student at that level just enough for them to receive the scholarship. Is this still a practice?
She has also worked at McDonald's for a couple of years and saved one heck of a lot of money (at minimum wage).
Is there any recourse here?
