Hi PS! I've enjoyed reading all the posts and getting up to speed with purchasing an e-ring for my gf. I'm shopping for a 0.8-0.9 (closer to 0.9), closest to 6.2mm, down to J, down to VS2, ~$4000, on a 4.75 size ring. This will be shipped to Texas so that's making me avoid the sales tax of WF and BGD despite their stellar reputations on here.

EDIT: Price is $3760 after PS discount (I've put it on hold already).

This is the best I think I've found so far:
http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/J-VS1-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1442352.asp

HCA 0.8 (ex, ex, ex, vg)

Setting (gf approved)--the scalloped shared prong is so unique!

Comments on the stone or setting? Suggestions? Thanks!

Bump please.

AGS 0 looks great. Get an ASET and make sure you are okay with J color. If you have a Hearts on Fire dealer ask them to see one of thier stones in a J. That will be the most comparable. I'd try to trade off color with clarity if you could. I'd drop to eyeclean SI1 and see if I could go up a little in color.

Sorry, I should have done a search first. There is nothing with higher color in budget. Okay. Well, I personally would be fine with a J. Just make sure that you are too. :wavey:

Thanks. My gf says she's very sensitive to clarity and prefers higher clarity.

Just curious: when looking at the magnified JA photos and the inclusions are obvious, will they be easy to find in real life?
Will check out a J in color

No. Not at all. I have a VS1 and can barely find my inclusions with a 40x mag. You will be fine and your lady will be happy. :wavey:

I like the setting.

Beautiful setting!!!

Both are nice. I would get JA to pull the stones for you and ask if either of them are really hard to loupe to find inclusions. If either of them is very clean, then go for that one and get an ASET. They have gemologists and if you call and talk to them they will pull the stones for you and examine them.

Still waiting on ASET images.

Am I missing something about this stone because the price seems too good to be true? Other sites for a smaller carat weight (0.8-0.85), J, VS1-2, AGS 000 are asking upwards of $4000.

Any final thoughts? Thanks

Gyspy, he needs an idealscop for RBs, not an ASET :))

That stone looks really nice! Snap it up.
