Help for a Friend...

A friend of mine wants help picking out his engagement ring for his lovely girlfriend. His budget is somewhere around $1500, or $1500 down with the availability for financing the rest.

His girlfriend has shown him two things she likes: a three-stone RB ring and a split-shank pave halo with a princess cut or radiant diamond. Other than that she is not in on this at all.

I am trying to send him what I can that surrounds these ideas, I''d love some help with links I can send to him, and an idea of what he can get for his money.

I don''t know of anyone who does financing. Maybe someone else will chime in if they do.

For 1500.00, I think it would be really hard to get a 3 stone with real presence, and the other setting I just don''t see at all. JA has some of the least expensive settings that I know of, but I didn''t see any 3 stone settings. And even if they had one, I fear it would eat up too much of the budget. I picked a combo that I think would be pretty for this budget, though it''s not either of the settings suggested. I just don''t know that he can do that on this amount.

This setting, with this stone, or this stone (that puts him a tad over). I think there''s a PS discount, but couldn''t find it. But if so, the larger might be doable.

Anyway, I think this would stand out more than a 3 stone, as they would have to be pretty tiny to be affordable..
