I have been doing some light research on diamonds, but I have not delved too much further than the 4 c's, depth & table, & girdle.

I am looking to spend around $2000, and want an emerald cut with a l:w of 1.4+, set on a pave band (preferably cathedral setting) in white gold. From what I have been finding on bluenile (yes, I know... ;) ) and brian allen, it looks like I can afford about a .6 ct center stone, going a little over my budget which would be alright.

I thought I found a few winners and had rings in my basket on bluenile, and today ALL the emerald cuts I liked were no longer available. I can't find any that are comparable now. I moved onto James Allen and found this.. it looks dark in the middle, and honestly I have NO idea what that means. I'm very new!

What do you think? Any other recommendations? I really like the thin french-cut pave setting on that site, which is $575, if that helps :) I am definitely open to other sites as well! I am a size 5.

Thanks in advance for any help!!

The first one is terrible. The second one is potentially lovely. Ask for an ASET.

Thank you! I will ask them for one.

Would you mind explaining what an ASET is, exactly? It has to do with light refraction, right?

The representative said it was a top performer. Here is the ASET.

Great! The rep had said that it was a good stone, but I definitely wanted an outside opinion. Thank you so much for you help! I think this is it :)
