help find me a diamond! it''s been 8 months since i started searching!

hi everyone

for those of you who have not followed my story (semi-story, that is)- i have been looking for a diamond since nov. of last year. i purchased a superbly cut, 2.60, I, SI2 from WF early this year. It was beautiful, but the color was an issue the minute i opened the box. i have since been looking for a 2.5-3.0, G, SI2, and needless to say, best cut possible. my budget is ~25K for the stone. i have had absolutely no luck so far. i understand that these stones are few and far between, but i am beginning to get impatient!

please help me!

This JA 2.77 gets an HCA of 1.9 and falls into FIC territory.

This 2.549 scores a 0.8

Both of these are SI2 and may not be eye clean. Have you asked WF or GOG or Wink to keep an eye out for a stone that fits your specs? Wink is supposed to have a 2.3ish stone cut by Infinity, but it''s not in his online inventory. =3&sh[1]=2&typ=aj&sd=weight&so=asc&mo=409&o=0#409:2o8h065d]Link to stone

i''m working with WF- they don''t have anything in house, but they have access to databases for virtual stones. i actually already considered both of these! WF told me the 2.77 was not cut as well as the one i had, and the 2.6 apparently has a hole on the table.

i know, i probably looked at everything available, but i am holding out hope that there is something i missed!!

The 2.77 isn''t super tight, but I think I want an FIC if I get another RB, so it poked me in a soft spot. Sorry!

eek! Definitely not a stone for a PSer!

Maybe talk to Wink about the infinity stones, or are those out of your price range? I don''t even know what they run...

Hi chitowngal,

Have you considered looking for something slightly under the 2.5 carat range. I just got a stone from WF, I too have been looking off and on since Nov. last year. I first found a beautiful 2.73 H SI2, but decided against it because the inclusions would have eventually bothered me. Then I found a beautiful 2.51 H SI1. I returned that because there was a feather on the girdle that I could feel with my fingernail.

I thought I would not find a replacement stone and then a 2.38 H VS2 popped up in their virtual listings. It had an old cert. so I was kind of concerned about that, but I love that it had the higher clarity and it had a bit of flourescence, which is suppose to be a plus in the lower color stones.

I just got the ring back from Richard Sherwood last week and got the thumbs up on it and it is a beauty!

How about looking at H SI2 with faint to medium blue flourescence? That might be the ticket.

I know it''s frustrating trying to find a perfect diamond for yourself, but I am sure the right one will come along. It does kind of suck that the diamond prices have gone up in the past few weeks though.

I will see if I can find a few of them for you. Hey, you never know!

kcoursolle- thanks for posting your suggestion. it does take me a bit out of my comfort zone in terms of price, though. i would love to have a stone with flour...yummy (and maybe i could go down to an H then!)

mercoledi- would the 2.77 be an FIC? i''ve never seen one...do they just give off more colored flashes?

butterfly- thanks for all your suggestions! i''ve sent them to my rep to look into. i think i might''ve looked at some of them before, but i can''t remember (we''ve discussed way too many stones). i''ve asked to look at H''s, but my rep and brian both seem to think that H would not be enough of a jump for me in color...i''m thinking might as well try since prices are going up the way they are....
