So it appears like I had it all wrong :( lol

In another thread I had asked about thoughts on an "indented natural" diamond but turns out I didn't realise that the diamond was cut too deep and turns out the inclusion was the least of my worries.

Now I'm turning to the experts on here to see if anyone can help me find the perfect diamond in price range with what I'm looking for.

Specs:
Carat: 1.0+
Cut: Ideal/Very Good (preferrably Ideal)
Colour: H+
Clarity: SI1+ (Aslong as the diamond is Eye Clean)

She's looking for a pretty simple band (no diamonds) and about 3.5mm thick in 18k white gold.

I'm hoping to spend around $5000 on the diamond and another $1000 or so on the band.

So a total of $6000 but could spend a little more ($6500) if it really made a difference.

I also don't mind purchasing the diamond seperate if need be.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'll be continuing to look and if I find anything I'll report back.

Thanks in advance!
Danny

You might do a search through Pricescope Danny, in your searching, and see what comes up at places like Brian Gavin Diamonds, Whiteflash, and Good old Gold. All of them will have actual pictures of the diamonds you can look at and a listing of all the number for you to plug in to the HCA tool.

I think the good news is, if you are looking for a simple solitaire to put it in, those are pretty inexpensive, so you'll be able to focus a big chunk towards your stone. I'm not an expert here by any means, but you may find you don't get quite to 1ct with your current parameters and budget.

For example:

Thanks again bastetcat!

The ring listed above is $4500, I'd be willing to spend about $1000 more and drop down to an H colour if it got me a larger diamond.

Great price, but is it eye clean?

It appears to be? Is there something I'm missing? I did notice a few inclusions in the GIA certificate but when looking at the actual diamond.. nothing is jumping out at me.

If i missed something let me know!

Just ask JA to have the stones evaluated by one of their gemologists. You can't go by the pictures online. I just purchased from JA and thought a stone was eye-clean, but when I saw it in person it was a different story. Honestly, I would go just below 1ct, but VS2.. You will never know the difference once its set.. Go for performance rather than size.. That is my opinion..
