Hi folks,

Just wanted to start off with big thanks to everyone on there! Been lurking for a couple months, and through reading nearly every relevant post possible, I have decided on a custom Victor Canera halo ring.

Now it's time to finalize the diamond, I've narrowed it down to two, my criteria was H or higher, ~1ct, SI (eye clean) or above, $5-6k

Option #1 (no ASET) - Perry
Carat: 1.01c
Color: G
Clarity: S1i
Polish: Very good
Symmetry: Very good
Size: 5.92 x 5.67 x 3.97
Table: 54%
Depth: 70%

Option #2 - Victor Canera
Carat: 0.93c
Color: H
Clarity: S1i
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Very good
Size: 5.88 x 5.64 x 3.76
Table: 53%
Depth: 66.7%

Interestingly they both face up the same size. Trying to finalize decision this week. There are some benefits to getting the stone and ring from the same place, but I don't want that to sway my decision too much. Unfortunately viewing these in person is not a feasible option for me.

Thoughts? Comments? Feedback? Thanks in advance!

Wasn't there something earlier about Victor no longer setting Leon's diamonds? If you are planning on using Victor for your setting, you may want to check into that first.

There was something, but it was for August Vintage Cushions. Looks like I'm safe with a Perry/Leon but thank you for the reminder!

I personally perfer the more pillow-y look of the first cushion. It looks like VC's option is a bit more squared off which I personally don't care for.

Oh good-glad you had checked on it. =)

Personally I prefer Victor's. I like a smaller culet and I also prefer the square look because,to me, many of the more rounded cushions look like they are round diamonds once set rather than cushions. Good luck with your decision- I'm sure you can't go wrong either way.

I prefer the Victor Canera diamond over the Perry option. Can't put my finger on why but I just do. Too bad Perry won't supply you with an ASET.

Well, that is a tough decision, the ASET on the VC stone is really nice. Hard to see the faceting and performance of the center facets on the video of the LM stone. I guess go with the vendor that you want to make your setting, unless the higher color is a preference for you. Sorry not much help. Again too bad there is no ASET on the Leon Mege stone.

I'm not sure if it is just difference in photography, but I much prefer the VC stone. The facets just looks cleaner.

Thank you everyone so far! This is very helpful to get some feedback, keep it coming.
