(starting a new post because I don't want to threadjack rinni's....)
I am not only a newbie to PS, I am also just starting to learn about colored gems, period. I realize so much goes into the value of a gem, some of which is entirely subjective (sentimental value, etc.) That said, no one wants to over-pay. I have been visiting a peridot lately, a lot. I would love feedback on its price. Knowing it's not particularly collectible and all that.., also knowing I keep going back to it.
Burmese peridot
6.73ct
scissor cut, emerald shape; 12 x 8.9 x 6.8mm
flawless @ 10X (per vendor's response to my e-mail inquiry)
$670

vendor says mirror shot is most accurate representation of color (but I also read in another thread that this vendor's lighting can misrepresent gems)
Thanks for any feedback ahead of time!
