Hello,

I have narrowed down my diamond search to one, and I was wondering if more experienced Pricescope members could take a look and tell me what you think? This is a 1.75 Ct. I SI1 WF ACA diamond, but for some reason scores 2.4 on the HCA calculator. Would there be any concerns or issues that I should be concerned about?

Cut: AGS 000 ACA
Clarity: SI1
Color: I
Weight: 1.75 Ct.
Eye Clean
Depth % 62.4
Table % 55.7
Crown Angle 35.4
Star 51.0
Pavilion Angle 40.8
Crown % 15.7
Lower Girdle % 76.0
Measurements 7.64x7.70x4.79
Culet Pointed
Fluorescence Negligible
Girdle Thin to Medium

Thanks!

Looks like they cut it a bit deep, 62.4% to maintain the 1.75 ct weight.
A 1.75 will sell for much more per carat than a 1.74, but was this at a cost to the pristine cut image of the ACA brand?

I'd be interested to hear Bryan Boyne's take on this one.
He's a GG and VP of Whiteflash.

Thanks Kenny. For full disclosure, the list price is $15,745 before any discounts.

I'm sure it looks absolutely fantastic and will blow 99+% of all other rounds out there out of the water.
I bought an ACA and I love it and also love Whiteflash.
I doubt you or I would see any difference between this and any other ACA.

But a brand means you have to draw the line on specs somewhere.
I just wonder where the ACA brand's line is for depth and HCA score.

You don't use the HCA on an AGS0 diamond. AGS has determined that the stone should have ideal light performance. That is all that matters. The depth does come at a slight cost in diameter, but not much. I had a 1.6 ideal cut stone with a 7.60mm diameter because it was not as deep.

The stone is great! You've made an excellent choice!

(And to Kenny's question, I don't think WF even considers the HCA when determining which stones go into ACA or ES. They take the AGS0 stones and put the H&A ones into ACA and those that don't quite meet those standards into ES. That is my guess, anyway.)

Great stone!

Hello cksnipe and Kenny,

Happy Monday to you all. Bryan Boyne is currently out of the office on vacation. He would be happy to weigh in on this when he returns to the office. Otherwise your Diamond Consultant is more than happy to be of assistance.

Best regards,
Vera
