I am currently searching for an emerald cut diamond and this is one that I am really interested in. I am looking for some opinions on the diamond below. I know a video would be better than photos but as advised in another post, I had them take photos of the diamond with black backgrounds and with white. One of my main concerns is the feathers that are in the top corners shown in the GIA report. Is there anything that screams out to you that I should not purchase this? Any help would be appreciated!

Are you able to get any ASET images??

Hi, snow,
I am not an expert in emerald-cuts, but I've looked at a number of them lately, since I, too, want to buy one. The photos on the bright surface definitely help. To me, it looks like it's got good potential. At least from the photos, the stone looks like it has nice proportions and doesn't look overly dark. But photos can be deceiving. The problem is, the photos won't show you how the diamond handles light and movement. To assess that, you'll need to see it in person.

Does this vendor have a good return policy? If so, I think it would definitely be worth having it shipped to you. You could return it if it doesn't meet your expectations in person. Far better to incur some shipping and insurance fees than to buy something this expensive sight unseen without a return policy.

The VS2 clarity with a feather in the corner does concern me a bit. You would definitely want to have your jeweler and/or an independent appraiser take a look at that to see if it's going to cause problems with setting the stone.

If there's a good return policy I would get the stone and see how you like it in person.
