Hello All :twirl:

I've been hunting for a 3 - 3.5 carat diamond (obviously within a certain price range) and I think I've limited it to one of these two stones:

Diamond #1:

Carat Weight: 3.31 carat
Color Grade: I
Clarity Grade: SI1
Cut Grade: Excellent
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Fluorescence: None

Diamond #2:

Carat Weight: 3.13 carat
Color Grade: H
Clarity Grade: SI1
Cut Grade: Excellent
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Fluorescence: Faint

GIA certificates attached. I've seen both stones in person and they both appear eye clean. Price difference is minimal (less than $1k). I'm leaning towards one of these but I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE some thoughts.

Much appreciated.

If it is possible to get an image through an ASET or Ideal-Scope we can tell you more about preferences.

That said, based solely on proportions it is likely 2186998767 may outperform the other. I like the 34.5CA paired with the 41PA in most cases more than the 35/41 combo. Additionally, the depth of 61.4 will help compliment the other angles more than the 62.4.

That said - there are too many other factors to consider (not the least of which that these are rounded averages and could vary GREATLY)

My recommendation - get light performance images and come back and re-post those. If Ideal-Scope or ASET images are not available, perhaps continue shopping until you find a supplier who can provide those images for you, it will add significant information that you will not find on the grading reports.

Here is some basic information on why it is important to see those images:

Happy Hunting

I like them both, but I like the 3.13 H, a little better. It's not so deep, and it will look almost the same as the larger deeper one. Can't wait to see which one you get.

I'm leaning towards Diamond #2 so got some images of Diamond #2 today (Idealscope, ASET, etc.).

Could anyone let me know their thoughts? It looks good to me, but I'd love some expert opinions :)

Thanks!!!

Thanks all :)

We decided to buy Diamond #2. I will post the ring when the setting is finished (I AM SO EXCITED!)
