I was leaning toward the first because it seems to be a better cut overall but I just love how white and shiny the 1.55 is. I'm not really loving the 1.51 that much because it seems dull compared to the other ones but I'm not sure if that could just be the picture. It seems darker and more tinted than the other two, but I just can't ignore that great price! We've been saving for a LONG time and this will be my diamond for many many years so I don't want to settle for something less but I do want to get a good price. Alas, I need help!!

PS: I asked but none of the diamonds have any additional reports like ASET or Sarin

Thanks Again!!!!

anyone chime in please? :shifty:

Welcome!

#3 likely has some leakage and I would eliminate it just from the numbers. Can you get idealscope images of the first two stones? If not, I might be inclined to choose #1. I generally don't like to go over 58% for the table, but #2 could be fine. Just hard to tell without the idealscope images to see if there is leakage. Have you seen all of them in person?

The prices look good.

Hi, thank you so much for your response! I asked if I could get additional reports for all the diamonds and they said they did not have any additional reports and I tried to request ASET but they told me that because the diamond is not with them they could not get those reports and the vendor did not provide them. I haven't seen any in person which is my concern, I'm buying the diamond online so I won't get to see it until it is shipped and arrives :/

Wondering what exactly does leakage mean? Could that be why the diamond appears duller in the photo? It almost seems to me like the 1.50 and 1.55 are whiter than the 1.51. I want the whitest I can get but in order to stay within our budget with a 1.5ct we have to drop to a J. Is the larger table of the 1.55 why it looks whiter? I've heard different things about table and I'm not sure what to make of it. I've also read that a smaller table makes your diamond appear smaller? How big of an effect do you think this would be between the 58% table on the 1.50 and the 60% table on the 1.55? Sorry for all the questions! Just want to make sure we're making the best decision, this whole process has been nerve wrecking! :errrr:

Also in comparing the prices between the 1.55 and 1.50, would you say one is a better deal than the other?

Hi OP, they are all good deals as you've made some budget friendly choices, me too! These being J color, table and depth that fall just outside of classic Tolk numbers, fluoro. You could also find a true 60/60 stone that's 1.4 cts. that still faces up like a 1.5 ct. That would save you too. And of course, going down to an eye clean Si1.

I like the first two by the numbers, if you've settled on these as the final selection choices. You say the second one is bright and shiny. Is that from the photo you say that, or did you see that in person? I'm guessing the former because the stones are with another supplier? It's maybe a leap because they are different pictures with different set up photography and lighting. So, it would be hard to choose based on that. Going by just the numbers, I'd go for either the first two, but maybe the first one is a little safer, by the numbers and I like the diamond photo a little more (the lgf are a bit wider than the second).

Hi! Thanks for your input :)
I actually haven't seen either stone in person, so I'm basing color and "shinyness" on the picture since it's what I have. I know this is not ideal since pictures can be taken in different lighting, so I'm sort of leaning towards the first just because the price is a bit lower but I don't feel like I would be sacrificing too much. I was using the search tool today and saw some diamonds from Solomon Brothers in the same price range but G,F,E and even D colors! I was wondering if they're a reputable vendor and whether anyone knows if they provide diamond pictures if requested? Most of the diamonds are SI1 so I'm very nervous about those because I couldn't even tell if they're eye clean until I have them in hand. Being eye clean is very important to me but that's not to say I wouldn't go down to SI1 or SI2 just so long as I know they would be completely undectectable to the naked eye (I'm guessing this is what eye clean means) . Reason I'd like to go as white as possible is also because my setting will be pave and I don't want there to be a perceivable difference in color in my center stone. So many decisions!

And on a side note, how much of a negative factor is fluorescence in a D-F color diamond?
