Maybe the ASET tells a bit more?

Diamond B:

Nope, still no appreciable difference.

Here is a side by side shot of the two. I asked this question in another thread, but it still seems to me that there is appreciable color difference between the two.

What colors are they?

both are graded F

If you think there is, go for the one you like better then. It is a personal sensitive thing. Also, your display's color setting may be affecting your color perception which is why it is not a good idea to judge color based on images.

The 2 stones are angled slightly towards the center, so the light the gathered and reflected by the stones may be different, which is probably what you are detecting.

It is impossible to see any color difference based on that photo. Not sure what you''re seeing but it''s not a brighter F vs a tinted F.

No one would be able to tell the difference face up, between both stones if they''re accurately graded. Even if you''re the most color sensitive person out there, it would just be impossible. They would need to be face down, under ideal conditions and the worst that could be is an appraiser finds one a high F and one a low F.

yeah, I guess you guys are right. I have stared at these images too much for too long

so difficult to decide without actually seeing the stones. Maybe I should order them both

If you have the cash for it, that is the best way to view stones. :P

why is Diamond B''s ASET arrows "less blue"? Is this good or bad?

Just the result of the photography/ conditions etc, nothing to worry about.

Another feature of the idealscope image of Diamond B is that it has more contrast between red and darker reds, most noticeably in the areas between the arrows closer to the girdle. What does this imply on the appearance of the stone? Less brilliant but more scintillation??

the area that I was referring to

Those areas are controlled leakage points which do aid scintillation and contrast yes.

Good observation, so maybe give the slight edge to stone B. Plus it''s bigger too.

I doubt that if you had both of these diamonds in your possession that you would be able to tell any difference between them. They are both F color, and both ACA stones. Believe me, these are both gorgeous stones. I would probably get the cheaper one of the two just to save a bit of money.

Or take the bigger one for size!
