Hello & a big thank you to everyone on this community for providing your invaluable advice. I've learned so much over the last month on this forum and cannot than you enough. That said, I've narrowed my choices down to two cushion diamonds and would greatly appreciate any input you might have.

#1) I've attached the actual image & ASET below.
A 2.09 F VS1, 8-main cushion brilliant.
Table: 60%
Depth: 64.6%
Spread: 7.75 x 7.57 x 4.89

(My initial impressions when I saw the real picture that there would be darkness at areas 12-3-6-9. However, the ASET shows just the opposite. Am I missing something?)

Here's Diamond 2

#2) I've attached the actual image & ASET below.
A 2.12 E VS2, 4 main cushion modified brilliant
Table: 61%
Depth: 67.8%
Spread: 7.49 x 7.49 x 5.08

(My initial impressions with this are that I love the brightness & spread of this stone better. However, I've been reading alot of how 8 main cushions are all the rage and would worry that this one is not as aesthetically pleasing)

I'm leaning towards #2 but any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi
have you seen these diamonds in person?
You know what they say about fancies, they need to be seen in person as well.

Can't go wrong w a BG - and I like the faceting on it a lot more than #1. So...#2!

Interesting.

So the first one is bigger (spread not weight). But you are right it has a unique pattern. Can you link us to the GIA labreport for it.

The BGS stone is the safer choice. And that's probably the way I'm leaning.

ANy chance you can get both sent to you and see them in person (where are you located, if there is a good local appraiser, then you may be able to do it without buying them both) and then buying the one you like best?

Thanks Gypsy. I've attached the GIA cert for diamond 1.

For diamond 2, I actually picked that out and BGD had it sent in for viewing so I had a chance to look at it in person. It was impressive and IMO, outshined the similarly sized signature H&A cushion that was placed next to it (which also cost $10k more). I've been leaning towards #2 ever since and wanted to compare it to a diamond with an 8 main cushion pattern, which so many on this board seem to love.

As for #1, seeing the initial picture worried me that the top-bottom, left-right areas might be dark but the ASET showed just the opposite. It may be difficult to view this stone in person too. This has me thinking that #2 is the way to go.
