I'm trying to buy a 1.3-1.4 carat super ideal cut, preferably in a lower color class. The three final contenders are:

http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3061789.htm#

They're about the same price, and the idealscope etc images look similar to me, although I'm no expert.
Thoughts?

Thanks for the feedback! Why would you not go below a J? Comparing the WF diamonds directly to the BG, is there a way to know if one will be more sparkly/brilliant?

I think you can start seeing a tint just barely in J color, and therefore, I would not go below J. J is the bottom of the near colorless range.

You would not be able to discern any difference between WF and BG stones as all are superior. I just happen to have ACA earrings and some other jewelry and favor WF for their quality as well as pricing. They carry a nice range of designer and in-house settings as well.

Those are all really pretty. I'm having a hard time figuring out the difference between WF and BG, and between all of these individual stones based on the idealscope etc. If I had a few of them in front of me, would I actually be able to tell them apart? It's beginning to make me feel a little crazy, trying to decipher the hearts viewer images and so on. Since these are all very high end cuts and the sizes and prices are pretty similar, I'm getting the urge to flip a coin...

No. I dont think you could tell the cutting styles apart from Brian Gavin to Whiteflash in there aca category.

What setting are you looking to get? BG is having a sale on a few that are classic

As I'm happy with a k. This would be my choice. I do not know if you ate happy with a k. But sense you were looking at them, I have to assume you've done your homework. :)

Otherwise I'd get that j from Brian Gavin

With this setting. 2160 in platinum or 1890 in some sort of gold. (Maybe rose?)
Or this setting

Under 800 in gold.

I'd be perfectly happy with a k. It's going into an antique setting, so the color doesn't matter as much. That blue one is really pretty, but does it have little black speckles in it? If they're invisible to the naked eye it doesn't matter, but how can you know without seeing it in person?

Ask them if they are visable from 6" away from the top and the side (if the side is visable in your setting) if they tell you it's eye clean I would trust their judgment

Hmm- hadn't thought to ask them. Are they usually honest about that?

Yes. Also, check their return policy, if they pay to ship it back and no restocking fee, what's the worst that could happen? Unhappy, send it back

Sounds like a good idea. I wanted to order all three to compare, then send two back, but my fiance is afraid that we'll lose them somehow and be out $20k.
