Greetings Everyone,

I need help picking a diamond for an engagement ring.

I have narrowed it down to these 2 diamonds (both around 0.35 carats and will most likely be set on a knife edge solitaire ring) and would appreciate any comments on which is better value:

1. BrianGavin http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/diamonds/diamond-details/0.358-i-vs2-round-diamond-ags-c-104093587038#

2.WhiteFlash https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3055254.htm

I am budgeting around $700 for the diamond only. If anyone knows comparable diamonds around this range please let me know. My priority is in cut since I do want to maximise the sparkle effect for such a small diamond.

Also fyi I will be shipping over to Asia. As far as I know WF includes free shipping while BG will charge around $75. Duty and tax are not a concern.

Thank you for your help!

I like the Brian Gavin better because it's VS but of course the extra shipping charge is a consideration.

I know you want to maximize cut but I wonder if you wouldn't do better trying to find a local dealer given if you ever need to ship the ring back for repairs or whatever the costs may be prohibitive relative to what you're paying.

Yes I considered getting it locally, but based on what I have read it is more cost effective to buy the diamonds from the WF or BG or any other online retailer (James allen or blue nile) and ship it over to Asia.

I probably should have said this in advance, I am leaning towards getting a loose diamond and finding a setting separately (which will most likely be locally sourced). So repair logistics/costs aren't a concern for me.
