I''m looking at getting a diamond around 0.8 carat (smaller size was requested) for an engagement ring and so am trying to get a very good diamond for that size. I''m currently planning to propose with the diamond in a simple/cheap setting, and going with her for a custom ring design to a local store.

The ring I am thinking of will probably have a lowered setting (with possibly a bezel) and 2-4 smaller diamonds inset on each side, and I have some indication that this is what she would prefer, but I''m not sure I''m willing to make the leap without more input -- she''d love it either way, but I want it to be what she really wants as much as possible!

So far, I''ve found a few potential WF ACA Round Brilliant diamonds:

0.834 ct D VS1 $5383 - https://www.whiteflash.com/hearts_arrows/Whiteflash-ACA-cut-diamond-2163479.htm

0.828 ct F VVS2 $5072 - https://www.whiteflash.com/hearts_arrows/Whiteflash-ACA-cut-diamond-2169540.htm

0.837 ct F VS2 $4158 - http://www.whiteflash.com/hearts_arrows/Whiteflash-ACA-cut-diamond-2150726.htm

What do you all think? The picture of each looks a little different, but they all look like they are probably pretty good to me. Since they are all ACA, with good (to me) idealscopes and all at least VS2 and F, is the difference between them primarily in the mind rather than in the eyes? Or is there a reason to pick one over the other?

I''ve also been quoted on some Hearts and Arrows cut stones from the local store I''ll probably get the final ring from, and while the prices were OK, I''m not sure they stood out really:
0.91 ct D/SI1 $5620
0.88 ct F/SI2 $4050

And, strangely, in some ways I''m more comfortably ordering from popular (on pricescope) online diamond stores than my local store.

Thanks for your help!

What do you all think? All three look great! The picture of each looks a little different, but they all look like they are probably pretty good to me. Yes, I don't think you will be able to tell the difference in them with the naked eye. Or is there a reason to pick one over the other? Just price, unless you want the bragging rights of having a D color.
I also think you are on the right track proposing with the diamond and letting her design/pick the setting, if you are unsure of her exact wants for style. I would suggest having WF set the diamond in one of their Tiffany replica solitaire settings so that she can wear the e-ring while the custom setting is being designed and fabricated. At only $250 for a white gold setting, it will be a inexpensive investment so she can show off the diamond and once the custom ring is done, you could have a colored gemstone set in it and she could wear the solitaire as a right hand ring.

Just make sure they are True H&A stones, even if they have arrows and hearts, they may not a true H&A stones if that makes sense. Love all the ACA choices. But it is a mind clean issue. VS2 is good enough for me plus its the largest (minor) and the most budget friendly

Thanks for the replies jet2ks and D&T. This helps
