Hi,
congrats on going with a square h&a,they look fab.
Both the stones look to be really nice, but if it were me, I would drop down to VS instead of VVS clarity or even SI1. I think you will find anything above VS1 is usually just paying for the premium and most likely won''t be any more clean. Many PS''s also have si1 and si2 stones that they are very happy with and for all intents are completely eyeclean.
For more bang for ur buck, this may be an idea - then you get either get a bigger diamond or a more gorgeous setting! yay!

Any idea of how you want to set it yet?
I am looking at a PoH at the moment, and will be sure to post plenty of pics when I get it

They both look fantastic, as AJ says, did you want such high clarity? That is fine, it is just that you could lower both and still have a clean and white diamond, but I imagine the choices may be limited in this fab cut.

I second the advice. Unless you need a mind-clean stone, I''d drop in clarity for the extra carat weight. Good luck! They are beautiful

Thank you for all your replies!

I did not know that going up in clarity was more of a money grab. I have been searching for some lower clarity grades, but in this cut it is very difficult to find something nice.

I have also been browsing at a Princess of Hearts, since my gf keeps waving between the two.

Thank you for all your advice, I will continue my search :)

Honestly, I would go for an E over the G any day as I am color sensitive. I also noticed the E was .96ct, which is just a tad below the 1ct mark, hopefully giving you better pricing/ct.

Have you seen these in person? Square H&A are nothing short of spectacular IRL!

Thanks for your input!

I have not seen these in person. I am from Canada and I live a little too far to drive/fly down to see these diamonds. I am entirely placing my trust in the good/bad words I read from this site.

This is my first major purchase online and I really hope that I make the right decision.

I am also slightly leaning towards the "e" colour, yet I am not sure if any "better" square h&a diamonds are out there prior to making my final decision?

Has Jonathan made a video for you with these two diamonds? His videos are awesome!

That''s always the hard part - jumping in and making that decision vs. waiting to see what else is out there. Just a thought... I believe you could upgrade this stone at a later time as it''s one of his hand selected stones.

The square H&A I saw was like watching a light show! It blew everything else out of the water!

Good luck deciding!

Hey,

Thank you for the suggestion. I have not seen a video of these two diamonds yet, but perhaps I will try to set something up. Even though it wont be as good as seeing it in real life, I suspect that the video could help me out a great deal!

OOOH.... gotta say you (and your GF) will LOVE the Sq.H&A. I have a PoH and I absolutely love it!!!

I second the advice given. I got an F color ( and an eyeclean SI2)... I don't think I could have been any happier with an E, and I'll bet I would have been happy with a G, but love love love my F. When I initially started looking, my stone was outside the parameters I was expecting to get, so I would suggest widening your search range because you just don't know what you might find and love.

You might want to consider looking at the PoHs too because when they're set (especially 1ct or smaller) I imagine you wouldn't see much of a difference in the shape of the corners if setting with prongs (though in a bezel I would bet you would).

They are absolutely gorgeous, sparkly, firey stones. You can totally trust Jon on the beauty of these stones; I would buy from him again in a heartbeat.

For instance, if you got this PoH, it's a G but a VS2 (which your eye couldn't tell from the VVS without a loupe)... it's the same carat weight but a tiny bit better spread... and a few k less.

Hi idealring,
its so exciting that you''re considering getting these cuts for an e-ring. I''m positive you guys will be stoked!
I''m curtrently looking at getting a 0.6 PoH, and I think including the PoH in ur search will be a great option. they are very simliar.
Just a word of advice, if you really know what you want easiest thing to do is just contact Jon and ask him to go through his inventory from the suppliers of the stones- I know from personal experience he can access a couple more that aren''t on the GOG site - I''ve run Jon ragged the last couple weeks ordering in stones, but he;s Always professional

I also second asking for a video to help you make the second choice - second best thing to seeing the diamonds in person. I am ordering in Australia, and this is also my first major online purchase. However I am totally confident in Jon and GOG and am Soo happy that I found them.

Can''t waot to see what u decide. I will be sure to post pics for you when I have mine.
good luck
AJ
